just discovered this journal def subbed
skimming through this page i noticed you mentioned box squating heavy more any draw backs to this then any other form of squat?
I asked this because i saw a major growth when doing heavy box squats and low reps low rest full squats in the same week but i thought it might weaken my hams or glutes being more quad dominent.

Stud line-up, but my boy Robbie demonstrated some flashes of brilliance
The sport is very cut and dry
Phillip came to the realization that he is swoll right here..."Dude I'm swoll!
YUP!
At the end it went...Phillip Ricardo Jr, Kiyoshi Moody, Cleveland Thomas, Moji Oluwa, Panexce Pierre for the top five. While our boy Robbie didn't place top five, he was probably closer to 5th place than 10th. Not bad for his SECOND bodybuilding show. Specially in a line-up that had all the stars aligning, as far as how fierce it was.
Proud and inspired Robbie!

Not going to let you go without a few extra back shots!
So look ended up finishing 2nd, but looked better than ever. That is simply how this sport goes sometimes, but anyone who has followed Luke knows he is always finding ways to improve. In a few weeks we have a shot once again. I am sure he will bring an even better package. With that said....

Thank you! I love this sport! Last Saturday reminded me! I start my diet in six months!
Good find!
Good having you around, nothing like some grown ass men excited out there minds. Who said enthusiasm is only for the young, it was great! Like you said everyone there, wide eyed and having a blast. Cannot wait for the next one.
Not at all, it really teaches you to use fire your PC, which is what gets you out of the whole.

Yeah true. I definitely didn't realize how that post sounded. I was in a car wreck though and have had 2 knee surgeries (on the same knee) to repair 3 ligaments, and did physical therapy for a while to get my ROM back to normal or damn close, but strength in that leg is still insignificant compared to my unaffected leg and it's really hard to get a good MMC even on the recommended movements so at this point I'm going to get tested for nerve damage I believe and I'm seeking a 2nd opinion.

Being proactive is GREAT, but your attitude is just as important. As in remain positive, I had a numb leg for about 6 months during most of 2008. In my mind, nothing was going to stop me, and I was going to do what it took to get better, not just when it came to health, but as a bodybuilder. I went from only being able to do bodyweight squats to breaking my old powerlifting total, and looking to get elite status this fall. You are in control of so much more than you think.

Damn! That's a bunch of time under the knife for 18 years old. Certainly wish you the best with that one for sure.
You didn't mention how long ago it was but remember that nerve growth is super slow. Approx 1mm per month if I can remember correctly (bit of personal experience myself with that one).
I'm not even really sure how a person gets in front of a top Dr. anymore.

Hello Alberto
First off I just wanted to say that it was great to see you and Brad at the show this past weekend. Eric, I am sorry I missed you. Thank you for posting the video of my posing routine. You don't know how happy it makes me feel that you and some of the others here like that old style of posing. I want you to know that from my heart I say thank you. I hope to be back next year, I will come in even more striated and do my best to fill out a abit more. It wil take more than a disappointing placing to keep me from coming back for more. Yes, the pros were huge and alot of the amatuers were very beefy so a little guy with lots of striations was not exactly the cup of tea for the judges. Oh, well, I did my best and I had fun. Hopefully next year I will be able to improve. Bob and Tina did an excellent job. Now I cannot wait to see you and Brad (he is a gentleman) get up there on stage. And Eric, coming in his remarkable conditioning and shape at his next show should make for an exciting year of competition. Many of us are pulling for you guys.
To the rest of you out there, keep training hard and be kind to one anotherThere was a time (seems like along time ago) where posing was actually taken into a bodybuilders total score. As bodybuilding grew in popularity the number of contestants entering each show continued to grow. To keep the shows within managable time frames the emphasis on posing (for scoring) was slowly faded out. I myself am a competitive bodybuilder and I believe in the two-pronged approach: Bring the best physique I can bring that day and to display the physique in the best manner I can.

Larry, you came in very lean this year and looked better than the last time I saw you in my humble opinion, the open classes were very stacked and difficult this year, so I wouldn't take your placing too harshly, I can't wait to see you on stage next time, and thank you for the kind words! Sorry I didn't get a chance to say hello and congratulate you on a great showing.

Thank you!
She came over yesterday, and we learned to go upstairs, and eat life cereal.
That "bye bye" was very going through the motions, I have somewhere to be. LOL
Thank you! One of my many souvenirs that day. You improved so much, and I can only imagine how much more you will next year. One thing was for sure the posing was as cool as ever. Again thank you for being part of an awesome day Larry.
Say's the the guy that is only allowed a handful of arm work
