    Went for Japanese BBQ at Gyukaku in midtown East:



    Had a bunch of different kinds of grilled beef, a bit of grilled fish, and some grilled scallops. Also had an avocado salad. No rice. And one lemon chuu-hai to drink (sparkling water, 1 squeezed lemon, and some Japanese whiskey). A taste of my companion's chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream for dinner (she insisted).

    Its one of my favourites (along with most else you cook). Getting the noodles crispy is a bit of an art.

    Here's a few things you may like: char kway teow, beef rendang, laksa, bun chả, kimchi, japanese curry.

    Thanks for the suggestions! We live in a Korean area, so we eat plenty of kimchi, and we have Japanese curry at home quite often, but the rest of that stuff is new to me
