that's some great work on the wieght loss, well done.
my advice on the postion thing, would be to work out what postion you want to play or what your best at tell your coach that's where you play and stick with it. i wouldn't want to be choping around between the front row and the back row week in week out pick one and stick to it or if you think your gona play 2nd row when you move back home defo start playing in the back row. but if you just wana play in the 1st team then just play where your put.

people ask me how to train, and i answer "i look at what you do and then i do the exact oposite"
if your family was captured and you were told you needed to put 100 pounds onto your max squat within two months or your family would be executed, would you squat once per week? Something tells me that you'd start squatting every day

Texas D1 (Undefeated) and Texas D3 champions. There was some horrible sportsmanship from certain teams we played, the one comment that irked me was claims we played D1 players in the D3 comp to win it, Our D1 side played on Saturday afternoon and flogged houston 60-3, so I guess it's just sour grapes.
We scored in the last minute to beat Dallas area in the D3, the refeering was the most atrocious performance, i've ever seen, i've been playing ruby for 10 years in AUSTRALIA and watching the game for just as long, i know the rules, I know the interpretations, I know how to play, to cop some of the calls we did is tough to swallow.310 Pounds down to 218 Pounds.

don't sweat the comments. i'd take it as a compliment, that they thought d3 players were d1 caliber. the problem is many big teams will sub in their d1 or super league players for a cheap win. that happened to my team a few years ago when we played Old Blue back when they had a D1 a-side, b-side, and super league. We were playing they're b-side, and as we put in a few tries we noticed their super league guys coming in. we could tell because the super league guys have different jerseys than the d1 guys.
reffing is a huge issue in the US right now. not enough guys getting experience, also not enough guys who really want to ref.MISC STRENGTH CREW

Been a while since my last update, I'm back up to about 104 kgs, been bulking trying to get my strength back. Feeling pretty good. Starting work again next week so going to start cutting again, going to go right down as far as I can, hopefully around 95kgs.
Starting to get some strength back.
Bench: 90kg x 5.
OH Press: 50kg x 5 x 2.
Squat: Going for 120 kg tonight.
Dead (stiff leg): 120 kg x 5.
Goal: Looking to get real lean (95kgs), strong (120kg bench) and faster over the 100m and 40m.
How: Cut real hard but keep my protein intake up. Strength through 5/3/1 with assistance work and speed work on tuesday, thursdays at rugby training and plyometrics on Sunday.
Back playing rugby in Australia.310 Pounds down to 218 Pounds.

I played both Division 3 and Division 1 in the USA, divison 3 was awful rugby, terrible hands all round. Division 1 was good rugby, lots of ex-pats, lots of saffas and polies which meant D1 rugby was good, I got smashed from pillar to post in the front row, I got down to 217 pounds and still playing loosehead, it didn't go too well, I ended up, thankfully in the 2nd row and blindside.
I played #8 in 3rd grade on the weekend, only been to 1 training run. I reckon 2nd row will end up my position, hopefully jump in lineouts aswell.310 Pounds down to 218 Pounds.

Cutting hard for summer on oxy elite pro, i accidently bulked from 100kg to 112kg in about 3.5 months. feelsbadman. Put on some muscle got real strong.
Finished the rugby season in the front row, lost the qualifying semi final.
Enough is enough, cutting real hard now trying to get to 10%, going to be a tough road, 3 or 4 months i reckon.310 Pounds down to 218 Pounds.

Hey fellas,
Resurrecting an old thread, back into training seriously, my body is broken down but the urge to play rugby is nagging at me everyday.
Status: Broken right down! Left knee detonated playing basketball, torn medial ligament, torn medial meniscus and dislocated patella. Back to 3/4 strength now but sounds horrific.
Body Shape: Fat and unathletic but powerful and strong.
Training modality: Powerlifting Layne Norton-ish - Power Hypertrophy stuff.
Goal: 12 Months until next year's rugby season .. make that and build up a brand in basketball and rugby conditioning.310 Pounds down to 218 Pounds.

Dude I'd love to open a gym and take athletes to the next level. Only been thinking about it for 10 years.
Last week training highlights.

Squat - 180kg (396 pound) x 4 reps
Deadlift Conventional - 180 x 3 reps x 2 sets.
