Take less, 1-1.5g of caffeine per day is a lot, and reaching somewhat dangerous levels. 2g can have you in the hospital.

The fatal oral dose is in excess of 5,000 mg

    Long-term Effects

Long-term effects of a toxic nature do not appear evident when regular caffeine use is below about 650 mg a day - equivalent to about eight or nine average cups of coffee. Above this level, users may suffer from chronic insomnia, persistent anxiety and depression, and stomach ulcers. Caffeine use appears to be associated with irregular heartbeat and may raise cholesterol levels, but there is no firm evidence that caffeine causes heart disease.

The evidence is also unclear concerning caffeine and cancer. Caffeine and some of its metabolites can cause changes in the cells of the body and in the way in which they reproduce themselves, and caffeine certainly enhances this kind of action by some known carcinogens. However, although caffeine is suspected as a cause of cancer, the evidence is contradictory and does not allow a clear conclusion. Some animal studies suggest that caffeine can have anti-cancer properties. For example, in rats it prevents breast cancer caused by diethylstilbestrol (the "morning after" pill).

Caffeine certainly has the ability to cause a variety of reproductive effects in animals, including congenital abnormalities and reproductive failures, reduced fertility, prematurity, and low birth weight. What is unknown is whether these findings are relevant to the use of ordinary amounts of caffeine-containing beverages by pregnant women. Pregnant women have been advised to restrict caffeine intake by both Canadian and United States governments. Pregnant smokers should be especially wary.
    Conclusion - we dont know

What? Is their proof that consuming massive doses of caffeine long term are healthy provided you're hydrated?

I've brought my caffeine intake from 300mg daily down to 100-200 workouts only and have noticed a sharp increase in general energy. I am planning to go stim free in the near future.
At some point in your life you had this idea of who you were going to be someday. That who you were going to be, secretly and unknowingly, starts to become a ball and chain behind you because it becomes who you could have been. Dont let the burden of regret weigh your dreams down.

How "long" are your days? Are you a typical early morning, early to bed riser? Do you work late shifts? All that stuff depends. Trust me, I work overnights so I've done research on caffiene.

If you take around 1,000 MG spaced out through the day (none 4-5 hours before bed, of course), and if your BP is good and there's no history of heart disease in your family, you should be OK. I would be hesitant to go as high as 1,500 though.

What is your reasoning for such high dosages?

No reasoning besides remaining "on the ball" all day and in the gym. I have to run several college recitations along with studying/grading I feel more energetic...

I try to limit myself as much as I can. Of course there are times that it is very nice to have the extra energy, but it will take a toll on your body.

Pretty long day. As I said earlier, if you're healthy (good BP, cholesterol levels, no history of heart disease in your family), 1,000 isn't terrible. Would I personally use that much? No, I'd stop around 700-800 MG, but on tough days, 1,000 MG won't kill you. Obviously, drink a ton of water on all days.

Haha, took the words right out of my mouth.

But yeah, y'all need to cut back on that ****, that's too much! I was consuming high doses before, as well. Somehow I managed to practically eliminate caffeine altogether. The only caffeine I get these days is from my green tea and the occasional scoop of pre-workout powder. I actually feel a lot better now that I'm almost caffeine free, in and out of the gym.

stupid. I haven't slept since Friday night/Sat morning. The only stims I got was from 5 caps RPM for preWO yesterday and today. Ohh and did I say I'm prepping for Ph.D. candidacy?
