I think a lot of you are forgetting that the UFC has a very clear set of rules on how they judge fights... Machida won based upon that set of rules.

I don't agree or think that Machida deserved the fight, but if you interpret the scoring based upon the rules the judges are supposed to follow, he won.

You do realize that the refs are underneath the Athletic Comission, in this case CSAC, and not the UFC. Right?

EDIT: How did Shogun win grappling? Machida stuffed every takedown.

Machida also controlled the center of the octagon for most of the fight.

Ok, so that would leave the grappling aspect even, then. Shogun- striking, aggression. Machida - octagon control.

Personally, I don't even think machida really scored well in that regard either.

Anyway it's sliced, I don't see how shogun didn't win it.

Controlling where the fight goes, and standing in the middle of the octagon is what controlling the octagon is.. Regardless of how much Rogan is talking about the leg kicks, he was controlling the octagon.

I found it apalling not funny.

I had always thought the "rule" to beat a champion was that you had to be pressing the fight in a clear effort to win........NOT that you had to wobble or TKO them. Shogun was the aggressor pretty much the whole fight, destroyed dragon's legs, busted his mouth open at the end, cut his face, landed many more strikes, excellent use of the clinch etc etc.
