So did you gain any height? I'm glad you got the surgery, get it now while you're young. You can do a lot of exercises without putting to much pressure on your back, except the ones listed of course. Just think, if you gained 60 lbs in a year, you can do it again. You went from "refugee" to athlete. Now go from athlete to monster!

Yeah, I lost about a solid 30lbs. A lot of it was in my calves/legs because I didn't walk or move around at all for many weeks. Thanks, I am eating every 1.5-2 hours trying to gain the weight back. I was low 160's out of surgery, I'm low 170's now.
Thank you!
Yeah, the difference between those two pictures might be a little over a year. I really started in 8/08. I know for a fact by 08/09 I was 185lbs. That picture is me at 190-192lbs, so maybe a few months over to gain those extra lbs.
Thanks btw.
Thank you!
I got maybe quarter-half inch. What is weird, is my torso got longer but I didn't gain it in height, it's like my hips got pushed down/straightened out and it caused me to be more proportionate. Longer torso makes me look skinnier lol. Thanks for the kind words, I'm trying hard back to get to 200lbs.
Thanks a lot! I appreciate it.
Thank you.
Thanks, it was a big surgery for sure. Even at 6.5 months out of surgery, my back is tense and I can't really bend or do whatever I want. Another 4-5 months and I'll be back to 100%.
Thanks for the kind words guys, I really appreciate it and it motivates me to work harder in the gym. Hopefully I'll be back with more progress pictures. Maybe get to 200 by.....2011?
My personal goal is to get to 185lbs by September 1st. We'll see how it goes.

I am about your height, maybe half an inch shorter.
Anyways good luck in your future gains and just remember this though, do as the doctor says, these 6 months take it easy, don't worry about your physique at all, when you work out, do very low weights with perfect form and high reps/ alot of volume.
If you **** your back up , you are ****ed for life, I've had back problems too, work related and I'm 21 which sucks, but I took it easy and now it's alot better, obviously your disorder is alot worse so don't rush at all.

dude thats some nice size you have put on. I'm 6'3" with a smaller frame so i know where you're coming from. It is a lot harder to look big when you're taller especially with a small frame, but keep it up and you will look like a beast.

Thank you!
Yeah, I don't push too hard unless I feel like it's not putting too much stress on my back. I'll do lat pulldowns and machine bench/incline bench and curls, tricep dips, etc. at close to max. But back exercises with light weight and good form. I have been gyming since 3 months post op, and at 6 months post op he said my back xrays look great, so I guess I'm not doing anything too bad.
Thanks
Thanks, yeah, I think I got you beat on smallest frame. Lol, you have more size than me. I am about 6'5 now and I'm really lanky after losing that weight after surgery. And yes, it is way harder when you have ****ty genetics but are a foot taller than most of the manlets on this forum. I won't give up though, I'll keep trying even if it takes me another 5 years. My main goal is to bulk up to 230-235 and cut to 210-215 and be lean.

Haha, I wouldn't say intense yet, I still need a lot of work. The hard part is getting past 200. At 193lbs, ~3500 calories was my maintenance. I need easily 4500 Calories and great workout to gain. It's very hard, especially with school full time and labs and not enough food.
Thanks a lot for the kind words sir, I appreciate it.Last edited by LilJohn148; 07-20-2010 at 01:51 AM.
