    How can I get a wider waist?

    I am a size 32 and find my waist to be small/feminine. How can I increase my waist with muscle and not fat? What core exercises will increase it? I'm 6'1" or 6'2" and only 170lbs... any tips on weight gain will be helpful too.

    Pull some heavy deadlifts and hit your obliques hard. Also work your abdominals heavy(as previously mentioned).. And you may want to do some ab-machine crunches at the end of your workout. That should build a massive waist.

    I dont want to get fat because I dont like that love handle look.. I just want to increase the waist size with muscle.. as for weight gain.. I also want muscle mass not fat..

    Im sorry, but his waist is going to look nothing but smaller as he builds. His waist is 32 inches as he said, which isnt that small. Look at his lats, they make his waist look small. it has nothing to do with his size. Obviously he can thicken his abs, but the waist wont grow more then 1-2 inches IMO.


    he has a very strong V, which is something to be proud of.

    Thanks Alex and Frederik.. I'm considering the Rippetoes workout routine.. which consists mostly of squats, deadlifts and bench press. I will definitely workout abs and obliques also. Im guessing obliques would be the most important muscle since its on the sides of the waist.

    Yea, I'm not sure what you want a bigger waist for. Lose the belly fat, get the six pack, then widen the delts and lats. You'll look sick.

    Yeah, screw getting a bigger waist, make your lats and chest bigger instead. Abs look better under the big chest/lat size.

    Your waist will get bigger as you do more compound lifts and core workouts.

    Do lots of Squats n Deadlifts and eat.
