    Novice: Deadlift Form Check 220lbs

    Hi chaps,

Anyone fancy taking a look at my deadlift?

    youtube.com/watch?v=JhjOH-Gpqnc

It's on my bodyspace titled "Deadlift form check 220lbs".

I'm in week 4 of Starting Strength.

I can do all my warm up sets with pretty much strict form. I do feel however, now that my work set has hit 220 lbs my form is getting a bit wobbly. I'm not sure whether I should add weight to my deadlift next workout (perhaps a very small amount) or wait until I can do 220 with strict form before adding weight. Is my form good enough/rubbish?
    All thoughts appreciated.

    Look forward to any replies.

    Cheers.

Its not bad. Your hips rise a little too soon, I tend to have the same problem. If you can keep your hips down longer you'll be able to deadlift more weight. Personally I think your form is good enough to up the weight.

Thanks for that. Yes, I notice that when I raise my hips prematurely I the bar gets a lever on me - which will no doubt make things more difficult, and strenuous on the back. I'll consciously try to avoid this next work out.

    Additional thoughts anyone?
