whey protein isolate raised my blood sugar level..??

so ive tried this for 3 days and measured my blood sugar level after consuming 25g of whey protein isolate, the first thing in the morning. and i take it alone. i thought its supposed to help, and if not, shouldnt worsen BG?

Your liver is dumping out sugar from the protein - gluconeogenesis - because you are fasted.

Do you workout (or do any kind of strenuous activity) after consuming it, or do you just have the whey (with no insulin) and are sedentary following?

Well, my cousin's a type 1 diabetic, and from what she's told me, if she eats something that has very few carbs (<6g) with no insulin (cuz you would need very little for something that low-carb) while remaining completely sedentary after eating this, her BG might be slightly elevated within 1-2 hours. But if she eats something like that (again, with no insulin) and then does some kind of physical activity, her BG is usually normal if not teetering on the low side. So even though whey may be high protein/low carb, from what I understand, it can still have a mild to modest affect on BG (but which could also be altered by any physical activity done shortly after or before eating).
