    thanks ladies.

i started my second creatine load ever. since i'm doing the hormonal timing thing, i waited until my "building" part of my cycle before loading b/c of all the grape juice i have to drink, along with a protein source 3 times each day during the load on top of all the other food that i eat.

so far things are going well. let's see if i'm starting to get stronger in the gym tomorrow.

hormonal timing makes sense to me but i'll have to try it for a lot longer before i'll know if the theory holds water. basically, i believe it works b/c so many of buff mother's clients have had it work for them.

i love creatine. i feel so much stronger when i use it.

as far as my lifts, i'm not positive b/c the exercises change so much. i've gone a month doing totally different lifts than the first 6 weeks. for example, i'm doing front squats with a push press and wide grip deadlifts from a box instead of back squats and regular deads. therefore, the difficulty has increased in the movement and so the weight dropped necessarily.

i'm not really sure how to test progress except by pictures basically. and i go up in my lifts phase by phase. the other thing they manipulate besides exercise difficulty is the rep and sets scheme. it's a pretty complex program. i'll be more confident building my own in the future after finishing this one. looking at their program on paper tells you nothing of how hard it is actually to complete. it's something about the full body/ big 5 exercise thing that really works.

Heya! I picked up new rules finally and got my butt kicked the other night lol. I found it odd that there were only 5 exercises... very sneaky of them... lol

Hope all is well and stage two is going good. I looked at it and was like WHOA!

    hey everyone!

i've been slammed recently so that's why there aren't any updates.

i'm still making my way through NROL4W and loving it. i'm almost to phase 4. my husband thinks he's noticing more muscles... lol

we'll see if there's any difference in pics this time from the last time and if so i'll put them up. if i think i look the same then i'll go a little longer before an update. no point on putting up the same shots over and over.

my husband is starting to really notice my abs. of course, i'm about 22% so it's not like i'm cut up or anything but something is definitely changing with the mid section so when i lean out, there's going to be a whole new me.

i love NROL4W. do you know of any other programs that i could try after this one? ones that focus on full body hypertrophy?

I am following the nutrition. What numbers were you coming up with? The program is totally fine with you eating maintenance but I know I'm eating above that.

Basically, on workout days I eat around 2200 cals and non-workout days I eat around 1972.

    Is that what you're getting?

    Is that what you're getting?

I got the same numbers 1972 non-workout days and 2219 for workout days lol. I just think that is way to much, but then again I have been trying to lose weight and haven't been successful at all. Currently I am up to 1800 and feel bloated and full. I'm just wondering if I am hurting the program since the first couple of weeks I was averaging about 1400-1450, I still progressed in push ups and weights but not in every workout.

You seem to be doing great on it, so I don't know if I should just suck it up and go for the higher cals
If this were easy, everyone would walk around ripped.

I like eating, it helps with the not dying.

i understand the feeling that you're having about upping cals.

i think the one thing i've discovered, you have to choose if you want to lose weight or want to build muscle. you can't really do both efficiently at the same time.

however, one thing i can tell you, although i'm gaining weight, i'm a size zero. that's where i started. SO i guess there's something to be said for gaining muscle and ignoring the scale.

i'm looking at this program as a great opportunity to gain muscle. so i'm not concerned with the weight on the scale. i want to give myself as much opportunity as possible to put on muscle and i'm actually a little afraid of not eating enough and "wasting" this time on the NROL4W. in phase 7 i'll have time to burn fat so i'm going to concentrate on gaining muscle in the mean time.

i hope this is some help to you. i'm bummed that your frustrated... good luck on finding the right program if you discover this one isn't so much for you. there are other "cutting" programs out there that might make more sense if your trying to lose weight.

let me know if that helps at all...!

That does help put it into perspective. I think the main thing I am after is fat loss, if I stayed at my current weight and rocked size 2's that would be fine by me I love the workouts, I feel better with structure and I think I just need to suck it up and eat. Its the end of summer after all I would be finishing in Jan/beginning of Feb just in time for a cut.

Thanks so much for sharing with me, I think I will stick with it and see what happens

i think you're going to love this program if you just commit wholeheartedly to it until it's done. then shred it like there's no tomorrow.

With the stupid low cals in the beginning do you think I should just start over? Or just continue on and hit my cals everyday? Thanks again for listening to my rambling on about this

what phase are you in? i think you should just up your cals and press on. there's plenty of time to start growing some muscle. just don't stunt your growth further by being to cautious with the calories.

really focus on lifting your best and giving each workout your all and by the end of it, i still think you will have made some considerable gains.

it's not a sprint, it's a marathon. obviously, neither of us are going to have the amount of muscle we'd like to maintain by the end of the first round of NROL4W. we're just "progressing" slowly but surely in the right direction

    get 'er done!

I am in phase one and on my 8th workout as of tomorrow, I am doing three sets of each rep range to get used to Barbell compound lifts. I may have balanced some of the low days with 2000+ days, birthday and anniversary are with in a week of each other

One thing that I have experienced is comments about how much I eat when I do try to up the calories (I eat three large meals a day can't do small meals). My husband doesn't say anything but I have heard it from friends, family and complete strangers.

Your right that its not a sprint, I need to get it in my head that this will take time and I am only in my third week lol. This has definitely set my mind at ease.
