Quick fibre question, started Keto today.

Got my friend started on KETO this week. Weaned him off carbs the last week.

Carb weaning phase was basically :

    Morning Oats+whey+banana's+almonds

    Banana's pre workout.

NOW today we start his actually keto.
Fibre supplement every night going to harm getting into Ketosis? Its just plain husk

Husk is fine, just make sure that's all it is. Some of the psyllium you can get at walmart is flavored and has loads of sugar. Should be 0 net carbs in your husks since it's all fiber. I don't have any issues and I supplement with pure bulk husk everyday.

Would this look aight : (non workout day)

    Meal 1 : 40gms whey + almonds + walnuts + PB
    & 1 tbsp husk

    Meal 2 : 5 Eggs, 1 yolk, 1 tbsp husk, chicken

    Meal 3 : 40gms whey protien + PB

    meal 4 : 5 eggs

meal 5 : chicken/fish/tuna + olive oil or coconut oil virgin
    & 1 tbsp husk

Basically the HUSK would not count toward carb spikes right??

Will try and push him to chomp brocolli...I love the stuff but he cant seem to take in greens.

I read FRUCTOSE is an absolute no no for Keto (high carbs in fruit) but Im guessing its restricted to certain fruits..

    What about :
    organic honey
    Raw Carrots
    Raw Cucumber
    Pomegranates
    egg yolks
    peanut butter

You are going to need to get the Whey out of the diet with the exception of PWO. I believe that because the whey is broken down so fast that it can actually cause an insulin response. Try not to rely on protein and fiber substitues so much. With a little dedication you can hit all of your macros with whole cuts of meat, cheese, eggs, broccoli, spinach, asparagus, avocado, etc. The honey and pomegranite are out because of their carb count. You can save some of those foods for the carb up which you will want to be high carb\ nmormal protein\ low fat.

Definitely need to cut out some whey. I have 1 shake max only on lifting days. Replace it with a meat instead. You can use fattier cuts of beef, chicken, pork etc too so you don't have to have nuts/nut butters with each meal. Can add cheese too since it has very minimal carbs.
Carrots actually have a decent amount of carbs so i wouldnt include those, raw honey is a definite no, pomegranate is a definite no.
You definitely want to include egg yolks never just eat the whites on keto thats pointless. You can have peanut butter but be careful because the carbs from it can add up because its easy to eat alot of it.
I am not afraid... I was born to do this!

How many g's of fat are in this meal?

    Meal 2 : 5 Eggs, 1 yolk, 1 tbsp husk, chicken
    How much chicken?

    Meal 3 : 40gms whey protien + PB
    List quantity of PB

    meal 4 : 5 eggs
    It's fine

meal 5 : chicken/fish/tuna + olive oil or coconut oil virgin
    & 1 tbsp husk
Olive Oil is fine as long as you don't cook with it

Basically the HUSK would not count toward carb spikes right??
    Nope

Don't eat any fruits...there's no point if you're in keto. Just get a good multi.

    What about :
organic honey Big no-no, full of sugar
Raw Carrots Depending on amount, might not matter carb wise, I wouldn't though
    Raw Cucumber Read above
    Pomegranates Read above
    egg yolks Perfectly fine
    peanut butterPerfectly fine
    in bold

no reason to stop the shakes, their perfectly fine

Unless u have his genetic profile there with you, you have no idea whether they will or won't produce an insulin spike. It's something to watch for, but he needs to try it all out. Telling someone that 'its fine' is pretty irresponsible when its not a given imo.

Im the friend ERGOT has been asking questions for, finally signed up to do my dirty work myself.

First : Metabolism is very fast... I burn food quickly. Dont know how I can monitor insulin spikes really.

Without 3-4 scoops of whey a day it is going to be very difficult for me to get in my protien. My job requires me to be on the move all the time. If I need to eat out then there is no 0 carb option really.

Chicken/Beef is usually a serving of 200-250gms whenever I take it.

Eggs are usually 5 per serving. (3 yolks)

Also I started the KETO on Saturday.. today is wednesday... when do I carb up?

Like I said my metabolism is pretty fast.

Oh yeah Im taking creatine pre workout (green mag)

Dropped about 1kg or maybe a little more 2-3lbs.
