5 Weeks Out!
Wow! The 2009 Mr. Olympia competition is right around the corner. My training and preparation have never been better. I am eating more protein and fewer carbs than I ever have for past competitions. I am also doing more cardio than ever and it is helping out tremendously. I am 280lbs and getting leaner by the day. Today, I trained chest and biceps with my 2 partners and we "killed it". I feel better than ever and I am looking forward to this year's Mr. Olympia because it is wide open. Anybody on that stage has a shot at the Sandow. I think Jay has 2 big problems....
1) He isnt as motivated in his training as he was when he was chasing Ronnie. So he let alot of those crappy machine exercises he loves creep back into his workouts. Without knowing he has someone to chase he just doesnt train as hard. And the density factor has been way down over the last 2 years. This is what I attribute it to.
2)He always spills over trying to carb load too much. This is a guy who gets 700-1000 grams of carbs a day during the offseason so when he depletes on 300-400 grams thats not really depleting. You have to go under 200grams and really 150grams for some time to get a rebound effect when carbing up. he'd do better either taking carbs way down and really loading...or just taking em down to 300 and keep it there with no loading the conspicuous in-between that he does isnt working...

cant find the video, was way back in the day when cutler was actually a threat, best i found on youtube was 8, i can move 6 like he moves 8, its not a hard exercise to pack on the weight, if im doing them 1 armed i can easily hit 4 and have hit 5 for a set of 8, it starts to get really hard at heavier weights because of the lower back strain and the weights being further and further in front of you.Originally Posted by BlueliQuid

really? for me its craptacular, i tried 8 to my dissapointment only got 3-4 lack luster reps in, but now my body has an idea on what the weight is like and im sure within 3 months i will be pounding out sets up 8.Originally Posted by Meathead.

I'm a fan of Jay but I wish he left some of his talking out of it and let his work do all the talking for him. He hasn't said the exact same thing as he did here but the last few Olympias he has said similar things. Back in 2007 he said that he learned how hard being a champ is and all the obligations are and that he learned his mistakes and would make sure that he wouldn't repeat them. And before 2006 and 2007 he blamed a sickness for some of the reason he didn't loon sharp. Maybe he really was sick coincidentally before the two biggest days of the year for him.
Also didn't like how he basically said that dexter didn't win the 2008 Olympia but that he let him win. Just admit that you didn't look as sharp as you wanted and that you would move on from there. By saying he let Dex win just makes him look like a sore loser.

apparently some guys in here don't have an idea of what Jay's philosophy when it comes to training, he said a millions times that he trains more contraction rather than pushing heavier weights.
