Does anyone else's wedding ring (if you even wear one) sometimes bother you when lifting?
I've got a huge callous underneath my left ring finger, it's the only one.
I'm not really fussed about the callous so much though, but worry I might either bend the crap out of my ring or pinch my finger skin under it somehow- blood blisters are not fun.
The only two options I can think of, short of removing it, is to wrap over it in white adhesive tape, or wear lifting gloves, but I kinda think lifting gloves are for dandies, unless your hands sweat profusely or something.
Or, there are those little tube things for toes when you have a corn, maybe that'd work..

I don't know where to find the picture and probably wouldn't post it if I did. The picture shows a hideous injury from lifting with a ring. The bar slipped, caught the ring, and everything was ripped from the finger down to the bone for the entire length of the finger.
I take my rings off. If you can't do that, I'd wear the gloves.

Yes, common I'm sure. Removing it is best. However, I found that using VersaGripps on any heavy pulling exercise (seated rows, pull-ups, SLDLs, Deads, etc..) alleviates this problem.

Remove it. I've bent the hell out of my wedding ring just lifting stuff while working, not evn nearly as heavy as a deadlift bar. I don't know how you would deadlift without flatening a spot on your ring.

OP--no problems here, but I do have the huge callus under it. LOL The only problem I have is that the knurling on the bars are taking its toll on my ring. I've mentioned to my DW that maybe I should get a Titanium ring for goin to the gym. She had mixed feelings.

Agreed on taking it off - Bars can scratch the ring... you can get calloused from wearing it, maybe worse.
If I forget before getting in the gym, I tie it through the drawstrings in my workout shorts or through my shoe laces....
Then I knot the hell out of it, say a prayer that it will be there after I do cardio, and continue the workout.Fighting against all odds to get the six pack back.

I always take mine off while lifting to avoid it being smashed.

Remove the ring. Both my husband and I remove our rings when we lift. And no, we don't work out together.

I just got my ring back after having it resized. I took my ring off last night before lifting and forgot to put it back on. I also went to the local comunity college that day to register. My wife noticed the ring was off last night and was convinced that it was off because I went to the college, and not because I was lifting. So thanks for the link to the pic, once my wife sees that she should understand!

Just be sure you're taking those rings off to protect them, folks. My ex wife had a friend who never wore her ring at the gym, but it was so she could take her pick of the men there. She was sleeping with half the guys at her local Gold's Gym and her poor husband didn't have a clue. The whole thing just made me sick! Heaven only knows what diseases she was bringing home.
