As some of you might have read my son is a recovering Meth addict and is serving some time - I love him and I am still proud he is my son - he has a beautiful heart , good shoulders like his mom , smart - also from his mom - lots of baggage from his past - but is doing great.
This is a pic of my daughter , son and I - cute family aren't we
This is my son and I trying to do a Flex pic together - I was laughing to hard to pull it off

very cute family.
there's a lot of that crap in the construction industry (i really don't understand why though as i've never needed it and i tend to work circles around the users)...makes perfectly good people do some seriously whacked out things.
i've never had anyone close go off the deep end though...that would be very rough.
best wishes with your son.thank God for my dogs...i owe them my life.

Thank You - it has humbled me - going through all this with him.
It's pretty bad here in Vegas , but it's everywhere -
He had some physical abuse in is past and that caused some rocky teen years that we thought he made it through - but went back to using - he said he needed to hit bottem and he did.

speaking of that.
My mother decided to get in a self help program when I did for people who are close to others with addictive disease. It has help her as much as the program has helped me, initially with dealing with me but in the end it helped her change her whole perspective and approach to life, it literally saved her life.

Meth is so horrible. I have had family members get messed up with it and it is ugly.
As a mother of one 'wayward son' to another, I wanted to let you know that I have seen amazing changes in my 19 year old son that have come about through much prayer and love. We got him out of the 'bad' situation (living with my ex-husband) and are working with him toward making a better life for himself.
I understand the 'pride' of a momma, even when things go tough. We never stop being momma.
(((hugs))) to you and your family.T.H.I.N.K before you speak. Ask yourself, is it TRUE, HELPFUL, INSPIRATIONAL, NECESSARY, and KIND? If not, then just keep it to yourself.

When I cleaned up 28 years ago, it was important that I stayed away from old "friends". That was the key to success. He needs to meet new friends in a better enviroment and influences. Without this, the odds of long term recovery is slim at best. Start talking to him about this now so he is prepared to deal with old influences.

My niece hit rock bottom with meth many years ago. She got involved with the wrong people, did meth, got pregnant, etc etc etc.. And she was 14!
BUT.... Now she is a happy mother of 3, has a great husband, and has a completely "normal" life. People can and do definitely turn themselves around with the right help and support around them. Props for being there for your son!

Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragements
It is a little scary to tell others about my son - never sure how people will react.
My daughter and I are open about his problems and where it lead him - in hopes it might help another family. My daughter even ran an anti drug group at her middle school - and she read her brothers poem about Meth to the entire school- hoping to reach at least one kid.
My kids and I are very close - even through all this, our love was never in question.
