Just wondering what the standard is, I've been doing it 2-3 times per week and been making decent progress.

Most teams/gyms/people lift 5+ times a week I guess, which I think is kind of silly. I lift either 3 or 4 times a week(every other day). Since I've started doing that instead of 5 days a week I've had much better workouts.
