It's like Ramy vs Victor at the NY pro, Ramy being Arnold of course.

For the record, not really fair to Zane because prior to this show he actually had a bad and bizarre accident that caused him to come in worse shape than he would have.

I didn't read on this thread about the one thing that was what the Mentzer issue was really all about. Mentzer was hammering his heavy duty method as the best way to train. When he would give seminars around the country he was bombarded with people asking him, "If it's so great then why didn't Arnold do it?" After getting annoyed for some time about this, Mentzer fired back that Arnold would have been better if he did heavy duty training. This got back to Arnold and at the 1980 show they had a confrontation. Then speculation arose that Arnold's friends purposely placed Mentzer low in the ranks as punishment. All of it is speculation and hearsay and butthurt lesser thans. The fact is that some incomplete facts are being used as complete and 100% truthful facts when really it is all speculation at best with minor factual backup.

The honest truth about this show is that Arnold possesses natural genetics that make his frame and muscularity look good. He just plain old looks awesome. I don't see a body on that stage more than his that I would want for myself. Zane in top shape maybe... but bigger. So maybe Arnold isn't in the same shape as his other Olympias, but he still has those genetics and looks damn good. It is pretty clear that Mentzer never had a chance to win in 1980 because Dickerson was clearly better. So whatever excuse or issue he wanted to throw up, Arnold wasn't his problem anyway... except that he looked better, conditioning or not. Some people just need to blame somebody for their failures. Obviously, the big kid on the block gets the most heat.

    Photo/Video evidence > everything else
