I'd like to buy protein powder to add to soups, mixes, etc., to bump the protein content of the dishes.

Did you try unflavored hydroloyzed whey, which I've heard is incredibly bitter? Or concentrate, or some other type?

it tastes like whey - like 'little miss .... eating her curds and whey'. it's a byproduct of making cheese, it tastes ... well bitter is one way to put it...like **** is another.

i've had unflavored whey powder, exactly like ON double rich chocolate, just no double rich chocolate

if it was diluted down enough it might be hidden by strong tastes, like a chili or something. but keep in mind it's a food, even if it's turned into a powder, and not a mind tasting one at that.

I've heard that the MetRX protein pancake mix tastes ok. I really hope it's not a strong taste; but perhaps it's diluted enough?

I don't find it to be too bad if you put it in something sweet. It has a sort of non-dairy creamer flavor to it. It's all wrong in spicy or savory things though.

cant believe no one mentions ons any whey ...........it mixes with anything and I cant taste it .........unless you use too much or add it to clear juise drinks

I find NOW Whey Protein Isolate Natural Unflavored to be pretty neutral tasting. 28g of it contains 25g of protein. This is the ingredients list:

Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate(Providing Beta-Lactoglobulin, Alpha-Lactalbumin, Immunoglobulins, Glycomacropeptides)

Hard to beat. I think it would work fine for what you're looking for.
