    Is Jogging in place for 10 minutes good enough?

    Or should I up it to 20 minutes? I'll be jogging in a way where I bring my knees high up.

    Any activity will burn extra calories, the problem is we don't know how much.

    I advise you try that for 2 weeks and keep track of your diet + excercise see how much your losing.

    Jog outside, enjoy the fresh air.

    If your doing it in place.. try mountain climbers. or jumping jacks.

    Skipping is a good alternative as well. Gets the heart pumping.

    I don't think running in place would burn many calories or be very effective for anything?

    I would say just go outside and run, or run in circles?

    Of course, any activity outside of your normal lifestyle will aid in lowering body fat%, but that also depends on your diet and how much your consuming to compromise with 10 minutes of jogging in place...

    Example:
    Just to say you have consume 2000 cal for the day = maintenance

    10 min jog = 100 cal --> 2000 - 100 cal = 1900 you made yourself small deficit of 100, which will result in weight loss.

    extra meal = 200 cal --> 2000 + 200 (meal) - 100 (jog) = 2100, will result in weight gain.

    FYI deficit of 3500 = 1 lb of fat.

    You'd get a better full-body session by doing some house cleaning and shower scrubbing.

    Jogging in place can burn a lot of calories if you get your heart rate pumping to 70% of your maximum heart rate. According to ehow you will burn about 500 calories by jogging in place for an hour. Use that to find out how much you would burn in 10 minutes.
