Saw today in 2001 Neyland stadium was voted by the Sporting News as the number 1 college football stadium. Wondered what the sports misc. thought would be the number 1 of today.
(yes bored, yes can't wait for football season)
Poll coming momentarily so be patient...
With little knowledge of college football stadiums (I've only seen games played in UNC, Maryland, Utah Utes, BYU, and San Diego St Aztecs lol, non of these exactly meccas of cfb), I'm voting for Bama because every time I watch a game on TV that's there it just seems like the craziest.

So I've heard. My neighbor when I lived in Maryland went to WVU, and he said him and his buddies would piss in water balloons and throw them at opposing teams fans. Pretty gay of him. Doing his best R. Kelly impersonation I guess.
Same thing with Oregon. Not the biggest stadiums but the shape of it and the fans make it crazy.

This. Obviously I'm a little biased, but it is a pretty damn awesome stadium. Only knock on it in the past has been that it seems so "open" and doesn't retain sound as well, despite it being the biggest in the nation (depending on the year... PSU and Tenn have also held the title). The new press boxes and added seats make it MUCH more intimidating.
This is what it will look like...

I really want to go to a game there. Looks awesome.
I remember the Michigan vs Penn State game in 2006. I was watching it on TV and it looked absolutely insane. Really good game too. If I remember correctly the players said they were having trouble hearing themselves talk on the field.
We ended up taking out two of PSU's qb's though lol. That was the year our defense was only allowing about 40 rush yards a game.DreDay66

Woah.. no LSU?
It's top-3 consensus.. and the only stadium to my knowledge to ever trigger an earthquake..

NFL for the love of the game? Whoooaaaa buddy. Completely the opposite for me. I love college football more because the players aren't playing for money or endorsements, they're playing because they love the game (obviously there are guys in the NFL who love it as well, but more so in college). More passion in CFB as well IMO, although it depends on where you go.

No kidding. And one world is better than the other.
College football: atmosphere, rivalries, traditions, history, co-eds
NFL: better product, that's honestly all I can think of
Most people feel a bigger connection to the schools that they follow than the NFL teams that are in their home towns. I'm sure it's different for people like Steelers and Packer fans though.

Yea definitely depends where you live. Try being from Michigan. The Lions are barely ever talked about unless it's in a joking manner. They're my team but I can't really consider myself a super fan at all. U of M football, on the other hand, is talked about everywhere. Different world.

I don't have an NFL team here I follow my Boys religiously though
As for CFB I follow the Utes equally, but it's totally different to me. When I think of CFB I think of rowdy fans and a heated game. They may or may not care about the game, but it's still fun. Fun as hell actually, but not what I prefer
When I think of NFL I watch with and talk to people that know the game in, out, left, right, up, and down and can watch it 24/7. I like it more for the technical side than anything else
