Starting Your Own Personal Training Business

So how does one go about doing this? Anyone on here have their own? I currently work at a gym but I've been having people that know me that do not go to the gym I workout contact me that are really serious about training and willing to pay a good amount. And the awesome part is I get 100%. Working for the gym I get 50%. One problem I'm already facing is that I'm not sure where to train these people since most gyms will not allow a member to bring someone in to train them.

If anyone is doing online personal training feel free to comment as well.

And this is why you never get 100%. You either pay a gym a chunk of your fee, or you pay them rent, or you pay rent at your own facility.

Yeah true. Paying rent at a facility id still consider getting 100%. Depends how you look at it.

You can look at it however you like, but in business we use arithmetic. $1,000-$400 = $600. This is true whether the $400 is a percentage of your fees at GloboGym, is $400pw rent at GloboGym, or $400pw rent on a 1,000ft2 shop in a strip somewhere.

If you are to be the sole employee, you don't have a real business, you have a job. You have a real business when you're employing someone else and it's them giving you $400pw. Or you giving them $600pw, which is how you'll be looking at it then.

You don't start your own business for money, since most don't make more than they would have as employees. You start your own business for autonomy. I don't want to do things your stupid way, I want to do them my stupid way. And trust me, autonomy feels very, very good. It's a sunny day today, clients coming in 45' - I might take the squat rack out of the garage into the sun. Try doing that at GloboGym.
