Top of the sixth ESPN was showing meat being cut instead of the first out. I don't like when games show stuff that causes one to miss the actual gameplay.
Bottom sixth was the camera on Yankees dugout before Tex struck out? Unless I was distracted for a sec I didn't see him strike out.

Anything less than a series win is an epic fail IMO.

I am not worried about the struggling inured Red Sox, hell, any Red Sox team for that matter. Time to bury some teams a bit.

Do we have a chance of being rained out?

and what...Burnett is like 5-0 against the Red SUX...
going to be interesting...
3 game sweep=4 games ahead in 1st...then we play the Mets, Nats, Marlins, and Mets
could get a little out of hand

to go 0-6 against the sox is unacceptable. i just want aj to repeat the first part of his last performance, and not relive the second part...
I'm 12 and what is this?

anyone care to speculate on the off-season additions?
two names that i think would make interesting additions: Chone Figgins and Carl Crawford.
Granted Crawford has a club option...but the kid is a year away from FA and would be a welcome addition in the OF.
Here is my thought process with these two....if the Yanks lack anything...it's a legit threat on the basebaths that isn't an albatross in the line-up. Gardner may one day be that...but at this point...he simply isn't consistant enough with the bat.
Figgins can play just about any IF spot...will hit right around .290 without striking out much...and is still one of the best base-stealers in MLB. I would be very interested to see him take over short and move Jeter to LF, where even though he doesn't provide the power you like from a corner OF...he's a professional hitter and the face of the franchise.
Figgins also won't command huge dollars or a lengthy contract.
Crawford may be less likely...and a poorer fit...but you have to love a guy that is a threat to run anytime in any situation. Granted he's been streaky...but if he really is coming into his own....and could maintain about 90% of what he's done this year...he would add a whole other demension to this Yankees line-up.MFC

I doubt Rays let Crawford go.
I would welcome Figgins. He can play a ton of positions and will be a great player off the bench.
We are going to need an outfielder. Nady, Damon, and Matsui are all free agents. If Holliday keeps struggle we may sign him if his price drops enough. Other then that there really isn't any big name FA's out there. That's why the Yankees signed Tex last year. The next couple of years there isn't much in terms of hitters.
I also like Mark Derosa. He is a great utility guy. Can play all over and can hit decently.Last edited by chrallmor; 06-09-2009 at 09:09 AM.
