Additionally "time off" has absolutely nothing to do with this thread - a massive personally-incurred expense, paid for by taxpayers, without a sniff of complaint from anyone...(including faux conservatives such as yourself, nutsy, et al)...., by a man expecting the exact opposite from everyone else in the country.

Additionally the prevalence of egg rolls in relation to wontons has nothing to do with this thread - a massively overlooked proposition, given the assertion by southern Chinese chefs to Northern chinese chefs that wontons are superior to egg rolls, without a sniff of a complaint from anyone... (including faux chefs such as yourself, grup, et al)..., by a man who does not understand what an ellipsis is and that it only contains three periods...

Remember when the libs got in an uproar over the $250,000 wardrobe of palins paid by the rnc?
First they seemed to not care about the $500,000+ photo op of air force one and now they dont care about the $870k soccer games. Both paid by every tax payer as opposed to just a the political party.
$250,000 > $870k+ ?
Why?
This also begs the question...why are you not in an uproar over the $870k in soccer games? I always knew you were a closet lib.Last edited by markymark69; 06-05-2009 at 07:07 AM.

I'm so confused to wake up and see that this has gone to three pages. I seriously thought it was a joke, and OP was either trolling, or mad sarcasm. But now I see he's posted 10+ times in rage so it's possible he's sadly serious.
Glad to see the president being a normal human being. It's not his choice whether or not to have the security. In fact, I'm willing to bet that if he ordered them to go away, it'd cost more as they'd need additional man-power and equipment to now protect him while pretending not to.
Again though...source?** I rape back 1k+**

You guys are so funny...just repeating what the liberal media tells you.
Anyways, I cant speak for the local costs incurred by the police..but the entire presidential detail is salaried.
Do you guys even know what the SS costs are? I'll give you hint...watch the NATGEO documentary
You guys dont even bother doing the research yourself. You should change your name to parrot. Because thats all you are doing. Parroting misinformation.
ETA: That "quote of mine" you used wasn't actually mine, I was copy/pasting from the OP in the NYC trip thread because everyone ignored it.In WY for the summer. PM me if you are from around Wheatland!

I read it somewhere.
The media is very good at breaking down the costs. They extrapolated the costs by the figures given for the NYC flyover.
For some reason I cant get faux conservatives like reyalp to express outrage over Obama's soccer games.
Im beginning to think self-described conservatives like reyalp, Nutsy54, etc are not really conservatives.... complainers? yes..conservatives? no.

I "accepted" it based on a decent knowledge of everything involved in a Presidential visit.
Here's the better question: Why won't the White House just tell us?
President Obama has consistently made clear that he will strive to lead the most open, transparent, and accountable government in history. Whether it is reigning in the influence of lobbyists in Washington, bringing unprecedented accountability to federal spending, opening doors to engagement with the American public, or shutting down the "revolving door" that carries special interest influence in and out of the government, the highest standards will be sought in every thing the federal government does.

Actually it is not a trick this time around.
He attends his daughters soccer games. They are both in soccer leagues.
GAO has done various studies on presidential travel so $30k is a rough estimation.
But at any given time he is protect by 20-25 SS, motorcade of 7-10 cars.
For each visit SS, local police, swat teams police the area 2-3 days prior, etc.
The cost is enormous.

I ndon't understand, if the PM of the UK wants to go to watch his children play football he gets in his car and drives there, costs about $5 of petrol.
Yeah you'll say that its the security but if you're being run by a president who cant even leave his home in fear of assassinations then maybe you need to start adressing bigger problems in socety than money being spent by Obama.

Personal sacrifice is what the "public" is asked to engage in. It has never been, and will never be, of much concern for the politician within the beltway. The higher up you go on the "political food chain," the less sacrifice you will see. In fact, in the world of liberal politics, there exists the very real mentality of a certain justifiability in increased expense. Those who in their wisdom and wealth of knowledge, ceaselessly working towards to "betterment" of all, are entitled. The "governed" are to be told what to do, what they need, and how they should sacrifice, once again, for the good of all. One shouldn't question the lifestyles or governmental expenditures of their betters! After all; there are those who lead, and there are those who's job it is to compliantly follow.
