it is the best game ever made, and will be the best for a long time, no Wii **** or anything will compare.
They are calling it the new heroin, and people have suicided, killed, etc, because of it, there are even clinics, it all depends on the person, and his ability to control themselves.
Signed.
The words of a hopeless WoW player.

My roomate and I played it for a long time, we have since quit.
It's a great game, really probably is, overall, best game ever, or atleast best game I've played.
I have friends that still play, some are the all day types and some play it casually like your favorite xbox game or something. I was somewhere in the middle and it took up too much of my time.
The worst part is the mental factor, you'll find yourself getting way more pissed than you should be over a video game at times.
The worst part was my roomate was in this guild that did quests with the team speak thing and the leader was polish with a thick thick accent. Every time someone messed up over a quest I had to listen to this f*ckhead cuss loud as hell, bitching everyone out. It was funny at first, then it got old.

Older MMO's like Asheron's Call were better. WoW is just the first to appeal to the masses because it's newbie-friendly and has the Blizzard logo on it.
Just like any other online RPG it has the potential to suck many hours from your life. If you need something to keep you busy, that could be a good thing. Just keep it in check. And be aware that it is not the best thing since sliced bread. It's been done before, and better.

I played it for two months and never got into it, it just progressed to slow for me, I got addicted to Diablo 2 becuase of the quick pace, so WoW wasn't my thing.
I just dont' have time to f'in walk from place to place all the time. Many sociologists argue that nothing rots a child's brain like television, but I've found virtually all hydrogen peroxide based gasses to be quite effective.

Dont listen to these guys, they said the same thing to me a couple days ago.
I mean if you have will power and self control it wont stop you from everyday life. I play alot everyday so far, but if I still go to the gym, train, and go out with friends. Its just a matter if you have self control or not.
Its a fun game though, its great when your bored and dont got much to do...I play on black dragon flight, anyone else play on my realm?

that is all bull****
don't pay attention to a single thing any one puts here
you won't get addicted if you have but an ounce of willpower and sense of priority
it is only mildly addicting
i played for about 8 months, starting off at only 1-2 hours a day
then i got to 8hours a day then something like 14 hours, sleeping only 2-3 h, addicted to caffeine, red bull
i stopped playing not to long ago and i can quit whenever i want
i still play
i can stop whenever i want but i don't want to stop right now
i just choose to play and keep playing and it is not an addiction

Yeah, start with Warrior or Mage. They level up quite nicely.
I recommend that you write out a contract to yourself, detailing when you can play and for how long and when you decide to quit.
I still have 2.5 years left on my contract, so I am good to go.
I originally said that I would play for 6 months, and no more than 4-5 h per day.
But I also allowed myself to ammend any clauses. Now I changed it to 4 years, plus 10 per day, but unlimited weekends.
It's a good idea really.
