    KETO snacks?

Can anyone suggest some good, keto-friendly snacks?

I just started the diet and my favorite snack (popcorn) is out. I just need to snack something! I'm going crazy. I'm doing ok with the meals, eggs, tuna, celery, peanut butter etc. Any suggestions? How bad is sugar for us (eg gummy worms) lol. Thanks

pork rinds are a great one.

hey does anyone know if dietary fiber is ok to consume during first two weeks of keto?

like the items that say "net effective carbs 4g" but contain 17g of dietary fiber?

would those go in your carb count?

Take a few hardboiled eggs and a bottle of mayo. Take an egg, squirt about a 1/4 tbs or so mayo on, take a bite of the first half, then squirt more mayo on whats left and eat again. It really works well if you get burnt out on regular eggs.

Pork Cracklins! They are a very hard/crunchy version of pork rinds and they are great! They make good crouton replacements in a salad also. You can get them at Super Wal-Mart.

    Others I have used:
    Walnuts
    Atkins Snack Bars (really satisfying)
    Peanut Butter
    Hard Boiled Eggs
Slices of Cheese.... Cheddar, Muenster, Colby.
    Mozzarella sticks and string cheese.

I do a 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (nonfat cuz its what Costco has) with splash vanilla and packet and 1/2 of Truvia. I alternate between this with berries or protein powder. Sometimes i add walnuts or flaxseeds.

Stick with almonds, as the high fiber would result in lower overall net carbs from each serving (1-2g net carbs per 160 cal).
Imo uncooked types would be the best, as they wouldn't have the excess sodium.

I'd be all for the sugar-free jello also, but I learned the harsh way that the aspartame used in them can slow my progress...

I've had trouble with products containing aspartame. Usually my appetite increases quite a bit, and I even get knocked out of keto around the times that I'll drink diet coke...

Another commonly held belief by the Atkins-crowd also tends to revolve around avoiding aspartame, for fear of that it inhibits the metabolism of body fat by overtaxing the liver (which must process it). I'm not sure about this one --- seems a little strange.

Well that's my experience with it anyways.

Well, Natural peanut butter has a lot less sugars which I believe reduces the carb intake. So, If you eat natural peanut butter maybe like 1 or 2 tbsp a day you'll be golden. And mont and poly fats are in it which is even better! WOO HOO!

    1/2 cup of walnuts has
    360 cals
    34g of fat
6g of carbs but 4g fiber,so really 2g of counted carbs
    7g protein

Great snack to have with tea with cream around the mid-afernoon!

Most people on low carb diets stay away from Aspartame. Splenda is the main on recommended.
