Ithaca
When you set out on your journey to Ithaca,
pray that the road is long,
full of adventure, full of knowledge.
The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,
the angry Poseidon -- do not fear them:
You will never find such as these on your path,
if your thoughts remain lofty, if a fine
emotion touches your spirit and your body.
The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,
the fierce Poseidon you will never encounter,
if you do not carry them within your soul,
if your soul does not set them up before you.
Pray that the road is long.
That the summer mornings are many, when,
with such pleasure, with such joy
you will enter ports seen for the first time;
stop at Phoenician markets,
and purchase fine merchandise,
mother-of-pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
and sensual perfumes of all kinds,
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
visit many Egyptian cities,
to learn and learn from scholars.
Always keep Ithaca in your mind.
To arrive there is your ultimate goal.
But do not hurry the voyage at all.
It is better to let it last for many years;
and to anchor at the island when you are old,
rich with all you have gained on the way,
not expecting that Ithaca will offer you riches.
Ithaca has given you the beautiful voyage.
Without her you would have never set out on the road.
She has nothing more to give you.
And if you find her poor, Ithaca has not deceived you.
Wise as you have become, with so much experience,
you must already have understood what Ithacas mean.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
'You always do what you want to do. This is true with every act. You may say that you had to do something, or that you were forced to, but actually, whatever you do, you do by choice. Only you have the power to choose for yourself.' - W. Clement StoneSTRENGTH AND HONOR

We are not the sum of the measuring sticks society applies to us to determine our value. We are powerful, decisive, autonomous beings capable of creation and great change, of generating immense force, of exerting control and command. Be not breakable. Be not subject to the will of your environment, but instead subject your environment to your will, remaking the face of the earth in your image. - G Diesel

Don't know if these have been posted. No particular order. (Military guy btw, some quotes are not workout specific)
"The reputation of a thousand years may be determined by the conduct of one hour." - Japanese Proverb
"I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live up to what light I have." - Abraham Lincoln
"When I went to the gate of the city and took my seat in the public square, hte young men saw me and steped aside and the old men rose to thier feet; the chief men refrain from speaking and covered thier mouths with thier hands; the voices of the nobles were hushed, and thier tougnes stuck to the roof of thier mouths. Whoever heart me spoke well of me, because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them. The one who was dying blessed me; I made the window's heart sing. I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turbon. I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. I was a father to the needy; I took up hte cause of the stranger. I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims from thier teeth." -Book of Job (not Christian, but I enjoy that)
"The mind is it's own place, and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven." - John Milton (Paradise Lost)
"Will you quit when you are ready to stop, or will you keep on going when you are ready to quit?"
"Excellence is never an accident; it is the always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent direction, skillful execution, and the vision to see obstacles as opportunities."
"Anybody can go to hell, let's see who makes it back."
"Sweat saves blood." -Erwin Rommel
"Si ventus non est, regima" "If there is no wind, row"
"Fortis cadere, cedere not potest" "The brave may fall, but cannot yield"
"Morior invictus" "Death before defeat"
"Amat victoria curam" "Victory favors those who take pains"
"Aut viam inveniam aut faciam" "I will either find a way, or make one"
"A ruts a grave until you step out of it"
"A man can be beaten in one of two ways. If he quits, or if he dies."
"It is better to live as a lion for one day, than a hundred years as a sheep"
"Expecting life to treat you well because you are a good person is like expecting an angry bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian."
"A ship in port is safe, but that's not what ships are built for. Sail out to Sea"
"Measure yourself by the people that measure themselves to you"
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight and die for is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." -John Stuart Mill
"To fear death is to invite it."
"Cure what need not be endured; endure what cannot be cured."
"It is easy to be brave behind a castle wall." -Welsh Proverb
"Every Castle was built a stone at a time." -Irish Proverb
"Death is more universal than life. Everybody dies, but not everybody lives."
"If a man doesn't have something he's willing to die for, he isn't fit to live. If he doesn't stand for something, he isn't fit to call himself a man."
And, lastly, my four favorites.(That are burned into my brain)
"Somewhere a true believer is training to kill you. He is training with minimal food or water in austere conditions, training day and night. The only thing clean on him is his weapon and he made his web gear. He doesn't worry about what workout to do - his ruck weighs what it weighs. His runs end when his enemy stops chasing him. This true believer is not concerned with "how hard it is"; he knows he either wins or he dies. He doesn't go home at 17:00, he IS home. He knows only the cause. Still want to quit?"
"Out of the night that covers me
Black as the pitt from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgenings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
looms the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid
It matters not how straight the gate
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
"Pain is inevitable; Suffering is optional"
"There's no second place in a gunfight."
/HooyahNo light to guide.
No ties, no ties to bind.
Evening tide what do you hide, damnation or salvation?

At a certain point in a man’s life, he begins to realize that excuses have very little value, that scapegoats are worthless and that alibis are just tools for the deceptive. It is in this great moment of clarity that a man must accept responsibility for his life, must own his choices and must embrace his destiny—realizing that there is no “fall guy” or logical justification that will suffice as consolation if his life doesn’t turn out as he’d planned. He can’t always point the finger at his folks, his friends, his kids, his wife, his boss, his coach or anybody else… He can’t shrug his broad shoulders and chock up his failure to his job or education, his town or social class. When all of the rationalizing and whining subsides, in a stone cold sober moment of honest reflection, he’ll realize that there’s no one left to blame but himself. ~ G. Diesel

If you truly want to succeed at something, Dont count the costs. Cause if you count the cost, you may give up, You may quit. Do whatever it takes to get what you want

Weight gainers are a waste of money.
Not everyone who drops **** on you is your enemy.
Not everyone who gets you out of **** is your friend.
And when you're in deep ****, keep your mouth shut!

For many people, an excuse is better than an achievement because an achievement, no matter how great, leaves you having to prove yourself again in the future, but an excuse can last for life. - Eric Hofferbench-300x1,squat 405x1,deadlift-505x1

In 2004 when I was 14 years old I had my first IKF sanctioned amateur kickboxing fight. The kid I was fighting looked like he was 2 weight classes above me. My muay thai coach noticed I was a little apprehensive I guess and right before my fight he told me, "Be the demon in the dark, then you have nothing to fear." Those words have worked wonders for me.

"This sport is harder than most people think.. It requires patience, determination, accuracy, persistence, sacrifice and heart.... Even with all of that there is the possibility that you may still fall short.. I know, I've been there and it hurts! All that hard work for a statue that constantly reminds you that you did not win. That you LOST! The remedy? Come back stronger, smarter, better! Be so good that they can't ignore you! Don't let it be close, don't let someone out hustle you.. Don't be out matched.. Nobody trains for second! Be Unstoppable!"
