Question:
What songs do you listen to when you work out?
Whats your playlist that keeps you motivated and the blood flowing?
pre-workout?
running?
lifting?
I thought a thread based on what people listen to might help other people stay motivated
(if there is a tread based on this arleady. I am sorry. first day here)

Dont know how to post the actual video in this thread but if this song doesnt pump you up, nothing will.
The first line in the song gets me going immediately... "Shake it off, Pick yourself up" - to me refers to pushing through it at the gym

If I'm dragging during cardio, I pull this one up on the iPod. Gets me doing double time in seconds!

I'm probably in the vast minority, but before workouts I like to listen to orchestral works - some favorites are Beethoven 3,7,&9, Wagner C major, Mahler 4&5, and plenty more...
Something about the grandiose feel of these and others really pumps me up while simultaneously helping me focus and stay "in the zone."
If I only have 5 minutes or so, I'll listen to some high-energy jazz; Sonny Stitt, Cannonball Adderly, and Michael Brecker all can really get me going with the right tune.
Edit to say:
I don't listen to music while working out... it's distracting, because I can't turn off my instinctual musical analysis.Whatever you choose to do, do it decisively and with conviction.

Pre workout to get me going-- SLAYER, I think I'm the first to put that one...wow
Running- Devildriver, old metallica, iron maiden, full blown chaos, as i lay dying, old slipknot, etc. Anything heavy with some good double bass works.
Lifting- Music and lifting don't mix for me I got too carried away last time and left the gym with a torn rhomboid. My eHow articles
