Is it just Seattle or does it seem like chitty used plates have now "stabilized" at $2+ per pound?

    I chuckled at this one:

Weider Standard 1” Plates 25lb pair and 10lb pair (like Rogue Fitness) - $170

    https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/s...137255871.html

So now any plate could potentially be Rogue. You just have to dream!

It's insane, but in some areas they're getting it. I get NYC ads on my FB feed and people are paying the insane prices. A pair of these just sold for $100 firm and the 25-lb version sold for $180 firm.

    Gym package

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...er_banner&_rdr

I don’t remember what the original asking price was but it was at least 20, maybe 22.5k. I asked about buying the prone leg curl and was told he was getting inquiries and expected to sell the lot. Now a couple of price drops later the equipment is still for sale. Who is going to buy a package of equipment like this. I could see a reseller paying 5-10k for everything and trying to flip pieces to make money. I’ve seen that same prone leg curl at less than 500 a few times.

I see this all the time when they're selling a "whole circuit" of machines. The used value goes up considerably when you sell them as a package, obviously. 20 machines that would each sell for 500 or less on the used market becomes $1000/machine when packaged together.

I really like how he indicates the "original" price of the equipment even though he bought them used. Everything in that ad tells me I wouldn't want to deal with him at half the price.

I was just discussing this listing with the Mrs yesterday - saying I think he's OOHFM. Something like a leg press, I can get $800. Some of the more in-demand other pieces up to $700. Most pieces in the $500 range. Some of the albatross pieces - like a back extension - $300 (and that's if I sit on it for months). And I'm up north where everything generally costs more. Down in GA I think he'll be lucky to get even half of asking if that. Hey if he gets it though, good for him.

I have the VR2 leg curl and leg extension. I'm a huge fan of them. Good biomechanics and a lot of adjustment points. The torso twist was pretty good too for what it was (flipped it), but I would never own such a machine. I can't speak to the rest of the line though as I haven't used many others and the few I did were used many years ago (and apparently were not memorable).

I would take both the leg curl and extension. I have not moved a selectorized piece myself (had my pull down/low row and cable cross delivered). I think it’s not too hard to pull the stack off and partially disassemble. But would have to be about 500 each.

I have the plate loaded version of the Lat pulldown. I wasn’t sure about it at first but when I got used to it I now it. With the neutral handles with you sitting back and leaning slightly in it feels like a pulldown row hybrid. Start with the handles together at the top then pulldown and outwards just enough to clear your head. Feels excellent on the lats and burns and pumps the back like hell on a 15plus rep set

To me, that in and out movement of the VR2 machine arms feels too vague. The VR3 solved that problem, but the seats, weight stacks and pretty much everything else seems poorly designed.

Ive been seeming weights $1.5 per pound, and dumbbells for sale around Atlanta. But > $2 per is nuts.

Olys are ~$1.50-1.75 here. Standards are around the $1.50/lb mark also. You could probably still get the $2 for Oly 45s and 25s, but above that and I think you'll be sitting on them.

100% nuts for what they have. If they can get some fool to buy them, more power to them. Slowly seeing a few items pop up with somewhat realistic prices.

Getting back into it after a 5 year hiatus where I was doing triathlon stuff. Sold mostly everything back then and realize I need to take my time getting a rack, etc as I don’t need it right now and slowly things will pop up.

Miss doing the core lifts though. Would love to get some ironmasters in the lottery for the space savings even though I have the space.

Patience is key. I managed to snag some great deals last year (even at the height of the panic buying), but it took time (plus a lot of refreshing and a lot of driving). Thanks to the "now, now NOW!" crowd I was even able to trade my steel plates for urethane ones and make a few bucks to boot.

Well, he’s down to 13,500. I like how he said he’s not going to accept a lowball 5-10k offer. Dreamer.

Go Georgia! I’m thinking he’s got a handful of things people would pay 400-600 for. Some things he couldn’t give away, and a few $200 items, maybe.

“GO BULLDOGS” ...sorry ,I’m in Massachusetts but my son lives in Athens.. I do find that you seem to get better deals than we get up north. We still get our dreamers up here. Some are actually comical! it amazes me the prices people will ask..
