At least Brady has actually played in a game in the NFL...
I never thought Stafford was going to be a big time NFL QB.... Weird that no one was talking about him during his years at GA about being the great NFL QB...Owner of the Iron Mulisha

Stafford with the Lions, well anyone with the Lions is like a Ryan Leaf or Joey Harrington situation all over again.
He better hope the bulk of that gauranteed money comes at the front in and not over multiple years. If it is multiple years and with the line they have he will spend the bulk of it on medical care (taxes asside)
edit: after seeing this insanity I'm relatively sure I will try my hand at being an agent after passing the Bar... (Thats why the gauranteed money gets so high, got to push it way up there so you are sure to get paid)Last edited by LittleMan55; 04-25-2009 at 07:34 AM.

This would draw fans for the first year or two IMO. After that they would get pissed because of the great disparity in amount of funding and a lack of competition. Plus this would drive ticket prices to an absurd level.
It will either work for the Boys and Skins or further the trouble both are currently having of trying to be like the Yankees. There is a certain point at wich money cannot buy you quality in the NFL. Plus some will play hard to get offered a mega K (edit: contract sorry to used to law school abbreviations) and then be not as successful when under the pressure or let up because the money is there. This is what will happen with Big Al in Washington this season.
Also the players union may have a fit over this. Especially those that retired when the cap was in effect because it will negatively effect their retirement set up in which they are entitled to 3/4 of their final year.BIGGER IS ALWAYS A REP AWAY!

That is the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
They actually had a chance that no other team has had in recent years, which is that they could have really hardballed a guy at No. 1 and nobody would have called them cheap. Everyone would have called them smart, given the crappy economy and ridiculous rookie salaries. Even if they really wanted Stafford, it seems like everyone else wants Sanchez so they could have basically said, "Take this offer or go ahead and get drafed at 10 or 12 and see how much you make."
Dumb asses. I really hope someone makes a decent offer to the Chiefs to move up and get Sanchez, so the Chiefs can stockpile another pick or two and move down where they can select somebody at a reasonable salary.*SCC*

Idiots.
There is so much more VALUE that could have been garnered. I do not think Stafford is a #1 worthy pick, or worth that money at all. Another win for my home team...no..
Id like to see Vick in Detroit honestly...and draft Curry or Smith to bolster the D or OLLast edited by Blitz n destroy; 04-25-2009 at 08:27 AM.
