I do my Chin-up/Pull-up alternating routine once a week. I also do biceps on this day which is the only time during the week I isolate th biceps. And it is a major, major stuggle to get throught the routine but it's worth it.
I hit a new PB (Personal Best) on my Chin-up/Pull-up routine. During the past 6 months I have been doing 6 sets of Chin-up/Pull-ups with 12 reps each. In other words, I do a set of 12 Chin-ups, rest 2 mins, 12 Pull-ups, rest 2 mins, 12 Chin-ups.... until I do 72 total reps.
Saturday, I did 15 reps of Chin-ups, rest, 15 reps of Pull-ups, rest, 15 sets of Chin-ups, rest, 15 sets of Pull-ups, rest, 12 sets of Chin-ups, rest, and 13 sets of Pull-ups.
I am so stoked! My new goals is to do all my sets at 15 reps. I have had other members in the gym make comments during this routine about how I was making them look bad and I tell them that I could only do ONE chin-up in gym class in High School. I remember how everyone in gym class laughed at me. I would like to see those guys now.
