Hey sk.
I just got my plan from Derek (CHA 1400) so I thought I'd cruise some of these journals and see what peeps have to say about it.
I have to admit - you have a fairly fun log working here. I'm definately subbed for your journey!
Oh.. and just another few top songs of the 90s (if you don't mind someone else throwing in a few..? ): Snow - "Informer", US3 - "Cantaloop", Madonna - "Vogue". All of those make me feel instantly happy - takes me right back to high school..lol.

Glad you agree! Hope you are having an excellent Saturday.
Hey! Thanks for stopping in! This place (not my journal specifically) is a great source for info and support. I definitely took my workouts up another level when I saw some of the stuff that people are doing, and it is incredibly motivating.... So it keeps you honest and as I have said before...I heart accountability.
Us3-Cantaloop is another song that reminds me of Basketball warmups in high school, that and Enter Sandman. Informer...listened to it on the workout yesterday. One of the best CD's from my high school era next to the one listed by Jamie is the MTV Party to Go Vol 5.
http://www.discogs.com/Various-MTV-P...release/174438
I'm a proud member of the class of '95....although I refuse to believe it was all that long ago.
I'd like to think we do. I'm telling you, I've still had that song in my head since I posted. Hope you're having a sweet weekend.
You complete me.
Hey now, this is how rumors get started! I am onto you now KF!
I have no active plans to compete anytime in the near future. I have learned in the past that whenever I say "Why would I do that? I'm never doing _____" that eventually I end up doing exactly what I said I wouldn't...(leaving the Midwest, living in NY, running a marathon, career choices, etc). So I try to never rule anything out for fear I have to deal with getting heckled by any who heard me say I'd never do it. My main goal is to lean down and see what I've got going on lean mass wise and go from there, because I honestly have no clue what is hiding under the winter coats.
As an aside, I think as part of your and Jamie's Athletic Decathalon, something pertaining to carrying an entire bison should be involved, say.....the distance of 2 km. Just throwing that out there.
Workout to follow...No excuses, just performance...

Ya baby, let's do this decathalon ****, bring it!!!!!!!
We won't carry the bison but be rewarded with a bison dinner at my place, it's a little drive for you but we can accomodate!!!
I feel that our time together with Jaime's motivational character can sway people's decisions to do just about anything. Never use the word I think, and always give 110% and the rest just falls into place. If ever you cross that line, you know we got your back!!!
Hope you are having a kick ass day, I'm heading out for another bike ride since the baby is having a rough day!!! It might rain so my rain gear is in tow.
Hope your day is going better than mine!!!lol

Shoulders:
DB Military Press: 1x10 @ 20s, 1x10@25s, 2x10 @ 30s (the last set of these was most unfortunate b/c I wanted to give it a go with 35s....but was lacking the workout viagra to get it up so that I could even start the set so had to do 30s instead...)
DB Shrug: 1x10 @45s, 1x10 @ 50s, 1x10 @55s, 1x10@60s
Reverse Pec Deck: 1x10 @65, 1x10 @70, 1x10@ 75, 1x10 @80
DB laterals: 1x10s x 4
1 arm cable laterals: 1@ 10 x 4
Bent Over DB Laterals: 4x10 @ 8s (anything from 10-15 was MIA during the time I wanted to do it....how this happens I have no idea )
Decline Crunches: 4x20
Back Extensions 2x20 @ 140, 2x20 @ 150
Leg Raises 4x20
Torso Twists 4x20
Cardio: 30 min LISS on recumb. bike
Tunes: Fight for Your Right to Party by the Beastie Boys and The Way I Are by Timbaland
Meals: 1: Eggs
2: whey, almonds
3: Sludge, blueberries, PB
4: Whey, almonds
5: CHEAT MEAL: chipotle burrito....the...best...ever..... and well worth the wait.
Tomorrow we'll check some stats and see whats what.....
I'm convinced that this decathlon should go down....but I still think there should be a bison carrying event. I'm all for the post-competition dinner and am very willing to negotiate to participate as an impartial judge for the event in its entirety....fair is fair after all.
I wouldn't put anything past Jamie. I know better. If she runs away with the brain we apparently share...I might not get it back and I kinda need it . (Plus she could beat me up...and if you both join forces, there really is no hope for me at all....yet....but keep your eye out, I'll be making up some ground in the next couple of months to give you guys a run for your money....)
Sorry to hear the day is going a little rough....hope bike ride number 2 helped out a little. Here's hoping you had a little spell that was rain-free during the ride.
Have a fantastic evening!!Last edited by sammykapp; 05-02-2009 at 06:07 PM.

Dorothy Mantooth is a Saint!!!
Favorite Chick Flick: Does Love, Actually count as a chick flick?
Favorite Horror Flick: For my friends to go with me and watch me jump 8 feet in the air---Texas Chainsaw Massacre....actually they will go to any horror movie with me for the enjoyment of trying to scare me at other non-scary points in the movie...as I tend to be a little jumpy...
P.s. Anytime Miss Congeniality is on....I lose whatever time is left because I have to watch it until the end.....can't help it.....

Love actually counts though.

I got tears..... but if anyone calls me on it I will say I had something in my eye. (See earlier pages of journal....)
Note: the first movie I ever cried at was The Fox and the Hound when I was about 4 or 5. For some reason, I interpreted that in the end the animals all died. I cried during the entire 20 mile car trip home. When I finally saw the movie again when I was around 17-18, I realized that they didn't die and I felt like an idiot considering my reaction to the original events were brought up at every Disney movie seen with my family. As a result, I cried at no movies until I was 27 with the exception of Rudy, Old Yeller, and one of the scenes in Homeward Bound. At age 27...a number of my well-intentioned friends wore me down and now I cry at ASPCA commercials, certain songs, etc. I was turned from a wonderfully stoic individual to a basket case! This is kind of disturbing to me, since I don't cry in real life events barring a few rare exceptions...but it is what it is.
Loved the Sixth Sense.
Uh....yeah. How did we not get to Weekend at Bernies? (Reminds me of that episode of Friends when they are playing for the apartment:
Rachel says this is her favorite movie: Dangerous Liasons...
Her actual favorite movie: Weekend at Bernies...)Last edited by sammykapp; 05-02-2009 at 08:09 PM.

REST DAY!!!
Well actively resting, since I have to go grocery shopping and perhaps attempt to organize the natural disaster that is my apartment...if I feel up to it. I'm already pumped about tomorrow's workout, but I want to make sure I'm ready to kill it since I'm going down to the 2 set week and I want to push the weights up a bit.
Today was stat day...and I'm approaching the whole thing as an educational experiment. I just thought I'd share what's been happening over the course of the last 3 weeks on the measurements and such.
Quads Down an 1 inch
Calves - down 1 inch
Forearms----exactly the same!!!! I'm not too concerned about my forearm size, but I do find it entertaining nonetheless
Arms: down 1/2 inch relaxed, down 3/4 Lwhile the R is down 1 inch flexed
Shoulders: Down 3/4 inch
Chest: Down 2 inches, what are ya gonna do....
Hips: Down 3/4 inch
Waist: Down 1.5 inches....
and for the kicker: BF down 2.5%, Weight UP 2.8 lbs. I think its a little strange...but clothes are definitely looser....so I'm going to fight the desire to hate on the scale by throwing it out the window..for now.
And since Kat asked.....fine.
Here is your picture.....Not probably what you were asking about Kat...but I figured I'd let you see who you were talking to.
I'm the one on the right squinting into the camera. This is me and my little sis on the train on the way TO the DMB concert. I say BEFORE the concert otherwise you might assume my squinting is because of certain activities known to happen at said events, of which I did not partake, even if it looks like I did . My sis is ecstatic that she actually has almost 3 pictures that have me looking happy to be in them. I tell her that it is because she is family she is so lucky.Last edited by sammykapp; 05-03-2009 at 10:08 AM.

Ditto. He was.
Yes, I do. I was carded for a movie last summer. I was once pulled over when I was 18 because I looked to young to be driving. It is my excessively juvenile sense of humor that keeps me looking so young...that and the fact I think it is genetic. Hey, I needed to get something good from my heritage.. I'm running with this one.
So we are fraternal twins....I told you before....after the convincing evidence I've seen, all the major details were taken care of and that anything else would be minor...I include parentage in these minor details. The fact I don't resemble a person of my actual age only adds proof that we are still twins. Quit trying to find a loop hole. FWIW...my dad actually had very brown hair before it turned grayish-white. And quit speaking the freaky deaky dutch..... Bad News Bears for YOOOUUU!!! Walter Mathau.....No excuses, just performance...

I knew you weren't!! We share teh brain you know.... In regards to the youthfulness...I think it is the gopher cheeks that look like I'm smuggling walnuts away for the winter that do it.
Is it after or before you put them in the skin box?
And Ditto......on both references to Billy Bob. In terms of Walter Mathau movies...I will always have a soft spot for Grumpy Old Men...the setting is in MN......No excuses, just performance...

Is it creepy if I say YES (not to you being creepy..the other part)?
But......If this is wrong...then I don't wanna be right!
So the list brings up some interesting points to clarify...how far back do the considerations go? Are we talking back to the 50-60's or more of the recent era? Because if I kick it back a bit...I think there are some bands that would have fallen into what is considered a "boy/girl band" when they first initiated their popularity that are very classic and not considered boy band material now...i.e..the Beatles, the Beach Boys, the Supremes..etc. But if we are talking in the recent era....
Boy Bands/groups of the semi-modern Era:
1. BSB
2. N'sync
3. P.M. Dawn
4. BellBivDevoe
5. Boyz II Men
Honorable Mention: 98 Degrees, and the one-hit wonder Soul Decision song Faded
Girl Bands/Groups of the semi-modern Era:
1. TLC
2. Destiny's Child
3. Spice Girls--damn their insanely catchy tunes....
4. Bananarama
5. Go-Gos

Ever tried to SING the Romanian version? (guilty as charged...)
I meant boy/girl bands in HISTORY. With that said, I'd have to add HEART to the female list, and The Who to the males list. Otherwise, we're pretty much *NSync (c wut i did thar?)
K, best TV/Movie celeb to put out a single?
Patrick Swayze - She's like the wind
Gweneth Paltrow (w/ Huey Lewis) - Cruising Together
Hilary Duff - Come clean
Paris Hilton - Stars are Blind

2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Sadly yes...my sister threatened to disown when she found it on the iPhone

You said Yes to Gwenyth...She has NO redeeming qualities other than Blythe Danner. NONE!
I'm going to have to rethink your taste...
You have 24 hours to redeem yourself before I start referring to you as "Teh Phillistine".....
P.S. Did you ever watch an episode of THE ORIGINAL "paradise hotel" reality tv show. it should've lasted 1 hour...not a season...

Whoa tiger! Before you go rushing off to the mall to have a t-shirt made with my new moniker (and no doubt you would have "Teh Phillistine" done in bedazzeled jewels just to torture me, and it probably wouldn't even be a blue t-shirt to placate me guessing by your tone)....let me preface with the following argument:
1) Out of all listed: The obvious choice for the absolute winner above all is She's like the Wind.
2)I don't think of it as saying yes to Gweneth when I said yes to the existence of the song (granted it should have been a lower case yes all things considered given my reasoning)...as I consider her a non factor in pretty much everything I have ever seen. However, if I had said no...it would also saying No to Huey Lewis. I consider Cruisin to be the equivalent of a musical memory alarm clock in that hearing it reminds me to listen to his older stuff that I actually enjoy. Just like an alarm clock, I have no desire to hear it after a few bars, and hit snooze by changing over to something that I like much better.. say..."Heart and Soul." I had no desire to see the movie from the aforementioned Cruisin, and the movie Proof was a horrible use of Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins---that casting choice makes me cry because the movie was so so awful. If given the choice of watching it vs the following option, I would rather tear my own arms off and beat myself with them until I was unconscious.
I think this should keep your rethink to a minimum...
PS. As for Paradise Hotel...I missed that one.
PPS. You said Phillistine. I occasionally use this to classify things.... There is no fighting it.......you're stuck now. Twin.Last edited by sammykapp; 05-04-2009 at 08:24 AM.
