    Microwaving a protein bar?

Hey all, I love heating my protein bars to give them a warm fudge brownie kind of texture and eating them with ice cream! yummy!

just wondering if anyone knows whether the quality of protein is SIGNIFICANTLY reduced/damaged if a protein bar is heated on high power for around 30-40 seconds...?

The manufacturing process has already taken care of that. If it's been baked, it's already been denatured to some degree and the biologically active / immunological properties of the protein would have been diminished already.

If anything, I'd be more petrified of the lovely Maillard Reaction.

But a denatured protein is not a destroyed protein.

I think it may be better if you melt it, just like creatine monohydrate, you don't want it to be crystallized, you want it to be completely dissolved in warm water.

Wow. You're dumb. If you don't have anything intelligent to say, zip it and don't scratch your legs like a cricket.

10, can you comment more on your concerns about Maillard? Are you referencing alterations in the flavor, or another concern?

It was more of a "if you really want to sweat the small stuff" comment. But on an absolute scale, the Maillard reaction can influence protein digestion, absorption and excretion. Maybe something to be worried about with a barely sufficient brown diet. Otherwise...

    ...?

I meant more like it would be easier for the stomach to digest it and absorb the nutrients when it is in a liquid kind of form, I am no nutritionist, it is just my guess. There's no need for that comment bro

On the package of my meso-tech bars, it recommends microwaving for 10 seconds "for that just baked experience!"
