what will you be using it for?
it was a great gadget when i had mine.
green juices with some sweet veggies are fun but it took a boatload of veggies and i wanted them all to be organic.

Mostly veggies. Right now I use a blender but it comes out thick. But what I like about it is I will add veggies that I dont like and would not eat any other way in the blender and I can have them with out tasting them. Are they hard to clean ? and when I use a blender I get all the veggies, is their a lot of waste with a juicer?

ive got jack lalanes juicer. It works great. But be prepared to spend some extra money on fruits and vegetables. Two glasses of apple/orange juice=1 bag of apples and half a bag of oranges.

To be honest I wouldn't recommend it. I think it's a waste of money. I got mine and used it for a while until I realised how much money you spend on fruit & veg just to get 1 glass of juice!! It wastes so much because it takes all the fiber out of the fruit. I think it'd be better using a blender or hand held stick blender; not sure what they're called...whizstick (?)

well, you'd be extracting all the fiber with the veggies in a juicer vs the blender. yeah you'll definitely get more than your daily serving in! it's really great in warmer mths to make refreshing beverages. if you aren't lazy and can get access to a lot of fresh produce, then it might be worth it. i hated that i couldn't take the beverages with me for drinking later bc you have to drink them right after they're made.
i suppose it depends on the model and if you have a dish washer.

Im starting to think that. I dont mind the bleander and have been useing one for years, I just thought it would be nice to have a juicer. With the blender I put a cup of veggies in and get a cup out.

I used mine for about a month and then said screw it. It was sooooo much clean up and it took a lot of fruits and veggies to make the juice., Its just easier and cheaper to buy fresh organic juice.

if you dont want to spend the money for a juicer, but want fresh juice, blend your produce in the blender, then use a nut milk sack (or cheescloth) to strain it. I always got tons of juice this way, so I dont understand how most people say it used up too much produce. A handful of spinach, some celery and an apple and I got 2 full glasses of green juice. Watermelon is good too, especially in the summer when they are on sale for $1 or 2. I always got a good 4 glasses of juice out of one watermelon. And I had very little pulp left over, maybe 1/4 cup.

It is more work to do the straining yourself, but if you only want to drink fresh juice occasionally its a great idea.

I think juicer machines are great for fresh juice but you just need to have the time to take them apart and clean properly after each use. I find it easier and around the same cost to stop by at the juice bar in the morning.

I'm a little mixed on juicers (ha ha). I have a really powerful blender and I find it to be a lot better. Juice can be awfully sweet and without any of the fiber to slow absorption you just spike your blood sugar really fast.

Green juices are okay, but I also just prefer a green smoothie anyway (try two big handfuls of spinach and a banana + water = actually delicious). I would stay away from juicers in general overall they are a pain and you waste a lot.

I consume a low-glycemic diet all of the time and have stayed the same weight for the past 5 years, plus or less 4 pounds. Juicing, in my opinion, is not the answer. I don't consume anything low in fat, and I avoid items heavy in sugar and processed food. I'm full of energy and enjoy the fact that my jeans aren't too tight. After eating, I never feel satisfied.
