Joint Pain or Muscle Pain....how to tell the difference.

Can someone enlighten me on how to tell the difference between the two?

When I stand up from a chair or get out of bed, I am getting pains around the sides at the hip level. For the past month or two it has been on the right side only, but it has started now I both sides.

    Thanks

Muscle pain will typically go away if you remove the stress and let it heal.

Joint pain, for me, is something that really doesn't get better but some things aggravate it more than others.

If you are not doing anything with your hips...and the only thing I can think of that makes mine tweak is heavy leg presses...probably joint pain.

The only real way to know is to go to your doctor and avoid the internet MDs.

Well considering I have taken a week and a half off and have not lifted anything and I am still in pain, I am going to think it is joint pain.
