    Lifting for Golf

Trying to find some exercises that will improve core strength and endurance. Also, looking for any tips on overall body strength/conditioning to improve my game.
If anyone has any tips for injury prevention that would help too.

This, I've always felt like the olympic lifts help my distance, but I don't have any evidence.
    Best lifts (all gym)/2011 Goals:

    Squat: 405/Out-squat Rob's Bench
    Bench: 275/315
    Deadlift: 435/475
    Power Clean: 285/315

I end up doing a lot of core work also work on upper/mid back, I personally think pullups are great. Lastly something I've heard from multiple coaches/trainers Glutes are king in the golf swing

Train anti rotation to improve rotation, and work on your weaknesses

To be honest I would stay away from olympic lifts and strength training in general if your goal is to be a better golfer and increase distance. Distance comes from flexibility and core strenght. All strength training will do is tighten your muscles and reduce your flexibility. I played college golf and I remember one coach made his team do yoga. My recommendation would be to do lots of stretching, core work, balance exercises, and light weight workouts.

I believe you are a little off on your statement. While strength training tightens your muscles it doesn't reduce flexibility as long as you stretch the muscles. It simply reduces range of motion, but only when you get to the point of being quite considerably large. Besides, I'm only 15, so it isn't like I'm bulking up too much. I've been told that a solid strength program is essential to increases in power and overall endurance. However, I would tend to agree with you on the balance, stretching, core work, and yoga. Yoga especially because it increases all of the others simultaneously.

So I guess the better question I should be asking is, what stretches and core exercises will benefit me the most?
