DIRECT WORDS FROM THE CEO/HEAD CHEESE....
-Mods cannot do name changes
-Mods cannot mass delete posts/threads
-Mods can only neg, no agreeing with posts
In other words if you do not like what you originally called yourself, do not take responsibility of what you wanted to at one point type for the world to see, or desperately want green boxes - YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK.

Gametrailers, which is one of the busiest videogame forums on the web, recently scrapped vBulletins completely and coded their own forums from scratch. They had the same problems as this forum, DB errors..etc.
The admins said the same thing on the forums as you did, vBulletin could not handle the traffic they had. They said it didn't matter if they updated the servers, vBulletin couldn't handle it. So they got the new forums now, it's still in beta, and it runs smooth and fast now. I will say the new forums don't look as nice though, vBulletin rules in that category.
But that doesn't explain Something Awful, don't they use vBulletin?
