i feel better after reading this thread,
ive been going at it for 4 months as well and no,i wasnt expecting to just balloon up. Ive been very happy with my results.
for the first 3 months i did 6 day a week routines, working arms and neck and back every other day.i wasnt sore so i kept going.i was constantly buying more weights(i check craigslist every few hours ,seriously) and doubled the size of weight i was lifting.started with 10 and 20 lb dumbells and now on 30,40 and almost 50 lb dumbells.
feeling great and really enjoying the feeling of being stronger.
Thanks for the info on this.I think this is the most questioned topic of people getting into this, which is,How long does it take to get noticeable results?
great thread for sure

Yea , But really depends on genetics, Dedication, Diet, Sleep...Too man y variables. I saw ( and others) at about 6 months. And now at 15 months of doing this, My arms are bigger and more pumped relaxed, then they were flexed 6 months ago.
But I smoke crack so the blood really is.... nevermind, just kidding. naw I just hit it hard.
Oh and Diet has a lot to do with seeing definition. less fat on arms, the more cut ya see!
