Alright I was not really thinking that Ripptoes was the way I was finally going to go after a ton of messing around but I need to do something to the point where I do the same quality work out for at least 12 weeks in a row. I will be working out with my son who is a 16 year old football player so this seemed like a good starting point for both of us.
I went to a PL meet at Detroit Barbbell and I don't know if I have the nuts or lower back to PL but I fell in love with the sheeet. It was amazing watching these guys succeed and fail. I actually was as impressed with the guys who missed their lifts as those who made their lifts.
The fellowship and support of each other was amazing. It is almost backwords of the local gym crowd around here which seems more interested in talking sheet about each other then helping eachother out.
I figure since my goal is to PL at least to the point of trying a meet and maybe the pipe dream of a 1000lb total this would be the place to start my lifting journal. I am also trying to lose weight so that will make it a more complicated journey in many ways. I know however if I don't lose at least 150lbs that my back will not hold out for long on deads and squats. So my goals for the next 12 weeks is to not miss a workout, get somewhat stronger, have some great bonding time with my son, and work on my form on the big compound lifts. I will be working out at around noon today and will post the workout in here daily. On non lifting days I will be doing cardio still except for sunday.
I will post what I eat daily if asked but if not I will start posting it in my fat loss log anyway.

Alright almost to the letter of what I posted I just cut back the squats. I think I need to give myself a little more recovery time then I do usually. I have a pretty fast pace because I am use to working out on my lunch at work. Starting Wed I will be working out after work so there will be no need to rush. Here is what I ended up doing. I have to tell you I always wondered about the CNS talk with compounds ext after doing a full workout I realize that there is some serious truth to it I feel kind of spent in ways I never felt with my other workouts. I was soaked when I was done and I had thought I would do some light cardio after and on off days but it will definatly only be on off days there is no way I could do cardio after that work out and I was not even using max weights. My Squats and Bench will go up next workout for sure but will wait and see on the deads.

We spent last week getting our max lifts to get ready for this week I maxed 225 for 1 on bench (which is one exercise I have done consistantly for about 4 months now) he benched 185 without ever lifting just doing workouts for football. He was the captain on his J.V. squad and is going to V next year they start lifting ie/Ripptoes in when school ends so he wanted to get a head start.I think an ass kicking is comming in a few weeks.

Nice work on your new goal's. It will be great to see your progress. Dont worry about the strength gain with the fat loss. You will get stronger and feel better by getting that extra off.

I know we got in an argument because I told him when we started working out he would have to eat eggs and meat that he couldn't use protein shakes cause he was still a little young and I simply don't trust any supp company enough at this point to let him use even protein. I told him when he turned 16 he could choose to use protein 18 creatine and after he graduated whatever he wanted.

It's hard cause I have turned into a supplement junky so I have sheet everywhere and feel a little hypocritical but I am 35 years old and not healthy so the harm some of the supps may do to me in not the same as him at least thats what I keep telling myself. of course most of what I use is nothing serious at this point Protein, Intrabolic, fish oil, multis and joint formula

Sup guys here was workout 2.
Worked out with my son today so the weights are a little light but I wanted to start him off low and just worked with him so he didn't get that feeling ya get when the guy keeps making you put on more weight for his lifts.
Plus I was a little sore still from squating monday.
Squats
45lbs for 10
55lbs for 8
65lbs for 6
75lbs for 5 x 3
Overhead Press
45lbs for 10
45lbs for 8
55lbs for 6
65lbs for 5 x 3
Bent Over Row
45lbs for 10
45lbs for 8
55lbs for 6
65lbs for 5 x 3
just for sheets I will put my diet in here today to give you an idea. It is not a hard core low carb or nothing I just eat fairly low carb naturally now. When I need to tighten things up down the road I am going to move to the Anabolic Diet.
Breakfast (6:30)
3egg omlete with brocolli and garlic with 1 oz cheese (330cals)
Meal 2 (9:30ish) (300cals)
Muscle Milk In water
Meal 3 (1 pm)
Muscle Milk In water (300cals)
Meal 4 (4pm)
1/3 lb lean ground beef with 1 oz cheese mustard and mayo and salsa + 2 vlassic dill pickle spears.(515 cals)
5 to 6 pm
Workout
7pm
3egg omlete with brocolli and garlic with 1 oz cheese
(330cals)
I will have 2 cups milk and 1 tbsp PB before bed.
Total 2,076cals 111.2g fat 77.8g carbs 189.2g Protein 15g fiber
Again I do tend to eat low carb but I don't have a carb limit if I am craving them one day I eat less fat and go ahead and have some carbs. This is one of the reasons I only weigh myself once a month cause the swings are silly.
p.s. I aim for 2000 to 3000 cals a day some days I eat more some less I am not super strict at this point with anything but trying to get 185 + g of proteinNext stop 250 lbs both my weight and lost 😁

For the record I will be doing cardio on non lifting days but not this week my sheeet is really sore lol. Next week I am off work and won't be on my feet all day so should not be a problem.
