Some people use crackers but oatmeal gives it a better texture, I think.
One time I used ground sirloin it in to cut the fat. It tended to be crumbly and fall apart. I think the meat needs some fat in it to hold together. I suppose adding an additional egg would also help as a binder. I like eating other people's meatloaf. Somehow mine always doesn't turn out right even if I follow the recipe precisely.
