Biceps not sore the day after?

I'm on a cut, but weight train 3 days a week. I've been concentrating on biceps and have worked on them about 3 times in the past 14-16 days (at least 3-4 days of recovery).

I do DB curls, BB curls, reverse curls, and hammer curls. I do 4 sets of each (with good to decent form) and that would usually bring me to failure, but I've noticed that I don't get sore the next morning like I usually do. I don't think I can do another bicep workout today, but there is little to no soreness in my biceps.

Is this normal? Or am I not working out hard enough?

Besides noticing your own progress, you know if you're working hard in the gym during your training sessions, not the day after. Soreness IS an indicator your workout was intense, but once your body adapts it won't always get sore. Yes, its normal.

Time to change routines, swap exercises out with new ones that hit the bi's on a different angle like standing barbell curls with standing dumbell curls and concentration curls with preacher curls etc.... (Dont shoot me XXX666 )

Sounds like your bi's have been yawning whilst you have been working them out. Time to slap them across the face.

Just because he no longer feels sore doesn't mean his workouts are not effective. If he is going to failure within a good rep range and with fair form, then his workouts are fine. No one is sore everytime after every single workout. During your first few weeks, maybe months...you are constantly sore...after that, soreness comes every couple of weeks or so.

Or he may just need to increase weight. Being able to lift more weight whilst maintaining form will make the muscle grow and also make them sore.

It could also be that he is not increasing weight which also points to why he is not sore thus, stopping the bi's from growing.

OK thats fair but consider this, if you worked out your body every week and your right side, for example, hurts more then the left side on all exercises the following day then shouldn't you be concerned that you will grow out of proportion?

I think that would be a yes because the right side has been hit harder right?

EDIT: Dont get me wrong but my shoulders never ever hurt the next day and they gain size easily and I don't push heavy. What if I aimed at destroying my shoulders so they would hurt the next day. Would they not grow even quicker?

As most of these guys said, it doesn't really matter as long as you feel the training.

Yesterday, I worked my biceps. I didn't get sore today... Doesn't bother me. My bicep is tight, but it doesn't hurt or bother me (which I like).

I remember a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't even extend my arms...WORST feeling I got in my arms.

Do not change rutines unless you are no longer getting stronger. As long as the weight or reps are going up, keep at it.

I hit my bi's and tri's hard, I do so roughly twice a week and have always tried to rotate certain things in and out of the routine to keep progress moving steady but the core of the routine always remains the same, with weight steadily increasing. The first few weeks into heavy lifting. I was sore a lot, but after a while my body started adapting to the intense working of the muscles. Now, after the pump wears off, no soreness what-so-ever.

I had one of my friends work through my shoulder/bi/tri routine with me about a month ago and when I was back at it the second time that week, he was still sore from the work out earlier that week.

I say as long as your feeling a decent burn during your routine, dont even sweat it. Not being sore after a good hard work out of any muscle is a bonus in my book.

Soreness sometimes depends on how hydrated you are for that day and the days to follow. Has to do with the lactic acid running through your system. Stay fully hydrated and you have a better chance of not getting as sore...however, i believe go hard and heavy, and if I am not getting sore as I think i should, i change my routine and hit my arms from different angles and different routines my muscles aren't used to. Changing your routine or even changing the days you workout can vastly improve your arm strength. Always keep your body guessing, don't let it get used to what you've been doing for weeks at a time.

Well for some at least soreness means progress.

My arms are never sore - all other body parts are sore next day - and it is my arms that never progress
