Yeah, so some kids are intelligent and advanced despite their mother drinking daily when pregnant, doesn't make it safe.
Don't see a big deal with creatine when breastfeeding but really hate it when people pull out the argument (I did it and they're fine!!!). Most of us slept on our tummies when newborns too and we're still alive, doesn't mean everyone's kid was hence the huge SIDS risk.

[,QUOTE=Bluelinersgirl;284210021]Just so people don't think I'm taking this too lightly. I don't drink, never smoked, won't take ANY medications (since breastfeeding I've had ankle problems and the Dr's have prescribed my steroids, 2 anti-inflammatories, and an anti anxiety pill or something for the dentist!) I won't eat anything with artificial sweeteners in it. I eat healthy. My daughter eats 90% organic. I probably eat about 50% organic. I use all natural household cleaners and detergents. ETC.
I take a BCAA supplement with no artificial sweeteners, a prenatal multi, fish oil, and flax. I am VERY concerned with what goes into my body and thus hers.
I've really been researching this and talked to 3 very knowledgeable fitness/nutrition specialists, one with a PHD that has written many articles and even a book on nutrition and supplementation. I've been talking to women who have taken it while pregnant and/or breastfeeding, and reading up on everything related to it I can find.
Other then watching out for dehydration I haven't been able to find any potential risks, and everyone seems to be in agreement that drinking alcohol or smoking while breast feeding, or feeding formula would be worse then creatine... and how many millions are doing one of those 3?
Like I said... I'm not 100% set on this, and I'll continue to research it and think about whether or not I want to take it for a few more months. If I do take it, I'm waiting till breast milk is NOT her main source of nutrition (sometime after she turns one), and then taking a low dose, 3grams.[/QUOTE]
Im with you i want to take it too. And my daughter is 10 1/2 months and nurses 4 times a day

That's what I was going to say.
I found around 10-11 months to be a critial time for me breastfeeding. Basically because my kids were eating a decent amount of solids and I dropped day feeds so I could return to work my supply plummeted. I was unable to maintain feeding only once or twice a day (some women can, my body didn't work that way). I guess it depends on how attached you are to extended feeding. If it's something you really want to do then I wouldn't take creatine, just in case.

This
Also you have the rest of your life to use it. You seem to be very healthy in your lifestyle and eating habits. Why cant you just wait a few more months? Or stop breastfeeding and then do what you like.
I would just not risk it or do anything that may have negative effects on my children for the sake of getting a better body.

Very old post, I'm aware. However it will always have the highest position on Google therefor it is still relevant for people searching the same query that brought a lot of us here.
I am 3 months PP and back to pre pregnancy weight and at 19% body fat as of today. I'm only using omega 3s, vegan pea protein powder, prenatals and sipping BCAAs throughout the day. I also practice intermittent fasting and am exclusively breastfeeding my little fatty.
I will take creative eventually, don't need it just now...muscle memory seems to be doing the trick.
But what amuses me is people's perception on taking such based on the FDA(or whatever "official body") having not given it the green light but the same people allow vaccines with SOOOO much harmful stuff to be injected right into their babies and as the OP mentioned it is naturally occurring in cows milk (along with antibiotics and some other stuff you wouldn't directly put into your child...but you do)
IMO do your own research. If there is too much contradictory information on a subject or you cannot get simple hard facts yourself steer clear.
I read a lot of BS about intermittent fasting and nursing and hormones and milk supply and how women should only fast 14 hours a day or they will die....
Tell that to my big, chubby, healthy, strong, happy, alert baby boy.I only eat grass fed unicorn steaks and brown rice grown with holy water blessed by a Buddhist monk on the highest peak in the Himalayan mountains.
I have a fitness channel now!! It's awesome, check it out>> http://www.youtube.com/freaksofnatureuk

I’m gonna stop creatine immediately because...
I’ve been taking creatine for 22 days now while breastfeeding my 13 month old baby, and even that I read tons of things online and ask about taking this supplement at my gym; I couldn’t find a negative reason of why not do it (just the dehydration) so I decided to do it and keep an eye close in this matter. However around 2 weeks ago my daughter started nursing more During the night, and a week ago she’s been waking up around 2 am all energetic and alert, ready to play... so it’s been a taugh weak because she is not sleeping as before, so until today I googled “creatine and sleep” and it seems that this is highly the reason of why my little one is not resting properly as before! So no more creatine for us!
