Since this thread sucks, I'll hijack it with some information that all of you peanut butter lovers will find useful. This should ease your minds regarding the salmonella scare.

It's been answered above - there is no real limit. For comparison's sake though, I tend to have 25g peanut butter (1 tablespoon) in the morning, 22g of peanuts with 2 meals throughout the day, then about 12g of peanuts with my before bed meal.
So that's 81g or a little over 3 scoops. I would have more, but this + my other food reaches my caloric and macro needs. When I go hunting, I just stare at the deer.
They follow me home and climb into my freezer.
Because they know.
They know.

the problem is what the hell does "ok" mean? Ok to what? How much peanut butter can you eat until you weigh 900 pounds? How much peanut butter can you eat if you are desperately trying to lose 200 pounds? How much peanut butter can you eat if you are in great shape and training hard? How much peanut butter can you eat before you'll die?

I wonder how much PB I could put down in one sitting if I gave myself no limit. Stuff is an addiction...

First off, ensure it fits into your total calories and macros.
Secondly, go for a natural or organic brand, which doesn't contain any partially hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup. I use Skippy Natural, but there are even better organic brands.
Outside of this, enjoy.
Hope that helps._________________________________________

Read the ingredients: if it says "partially hydrogenated" or "hydrogenated" or "vegetable shortening" or "margerine" or "triglycerides" or anything of 50 other names they use to trick you, then it has transfat in it. Do not eat transfat. Ingredient labels lie too, since the laws are not that strict. Might just have to guy organic peanut butter to be safe.
I don't know how much you can eat, but I eat all I want. Might get fat though if you eat the whole jar.
