would it be ok to not use the insoles of the romaleo 2's?
i have always used chucks with no problems and i recently bought the nikes but the chucks feel so much better to me. my squat actually went down a few reps with the romaleos. i like the flat sole and lightweight of chucks. with the romaleos they feel so heavy and i dont get to push my heels through the ground as hard as i could with the chucks. when i take the insoles out i can get more of the flat sole feel.

If you've never lifted in weightlifting shoes, depending on the type squat you do, it might take a few sessions to get used to the difference of lifting with a heel. Give them a few weeks to months and see what happens. You're not going to automatically improve the very first time you use them as your body is not used the slightly different range of motion.
