can too much caffeine actually impair your workouts instead of energizing you? (srs)

usually I take 1 scoop of shock therapy.. roughly 200 mg caffeine. yesterday I tried a bit over 1.5, so lets say 350 mg. and felt groggy the whole day including my workout.

caffeine is a vasoconstrictor i believe. so you'll have a harder time breathing/ or getting oxygen to your muscles. (it's more apparent with me because I have asthma, so i definitely notice a harder time breathing during cardio.)

    I can't stand using caffeine pre-workout.

I find I have much more solid workouts when "calm" and not jittery at all. My MM connection is much better and I go into a kinda zen-mode rather than "RAAAAWR POUND MY HEAD AND THROW SOME WEIGHTS"

I see.. well my workout yesterday sucked also because I did not have my iPod since it was low battery. I was forced to listen to country music (thats what was on the radio) at my gym.

And I go for low reps 3-5 range so I need a lot of intensity and explosiveness in my lifts and so I sort of need a kick, not zen mode for me personally.

Last night I washed my Lipo 6 down with 4 cups of coffee and I thought I was going to f'n implode! I felt like **** and I could feel my heart beat in my eyes! I definitly wouldn't have wanted to lift in that state. Plus it made me dehydrated.

    It was a bad night.
