    Good stuff.

    Rob.
I was very surprised at the squats. We'll just have to wait until next time to see how far up the scale I can go. As for the deadlift, damn suit was putting me out of position and pulling me forward. After the first attempt dl that I parked at my knees I took the suit off and just put on a singlet. I didn't want to bomb. Weight was certainly not an issue.

So, I left more on the platform there too. I put the suit back on for the third attempt and same thing happened. Suit pulling me forward and bar getting out ahead of me early on and I just put it right back down as soon as I felt it. Said screw it I've had a great day and I'm done. I was laughing coming off the platform. I needed a lot more work on the dl in the suit. I was working a lot on the squat in the suit in training and it showed.

I'm training for my April 11th meet now and I'll be lifting unequipped and aiming for a 1300+ total.
Jason, what poundages are you planning for each of your lifts to hit that 1300?
I have no E-stats to post but this is my Journal:

So it looks like you held that deadlift for about 6 seconds....I will bring the stopwatch next time.

LOL, yeah. It felt like forever when I was just holding it there. I tried to bring my hips in but felt like I was going to hitch it and new that wasn't going to pass so finally just gave up.

Nice lifting this weekend Jason. You smoked those squats, should have gone 550+. For bench, you already know that you just needed some more practice in the shirt. I hear you about pulling in a suit, I've never been able to do it without screwing up my form. Good meet overall though and I had fun even though I didn't even lift. I'm defintely planning on competing in one of Carpenter's meets in te future.

Squats went so well today I thought I would try some heavy rack pulls. I was able to pull 505 from knee level but man my back did not like it.......
I need to just slow down & steady build back up. I have my entire program planned out for the next 9 weeks so I will be ready!
It is so nice out I am headed out to run the dogs. Have a great week.

That's awesome. Don't push that back to much. I want you 110% come April 11th. I can't really stand rack pulls. Never feels good as I'm not starting in a good position. Today I'm set for some SSB box squats but next week I'll be hitting up some rack pulls. We'll see where I'm at.

this foam roll logging makes me angry. There has been an inflatable bed in my living room for two days(small apartment) and I refuse to roll on the cold ass tiles in the kitchen. I need to do something about this =/

Oh man I am jealous of you and your SSB. I hade access to one in high school and used it all the time, freaking loved that thing. Haven't used one in 3ish years now, man this sucks.

Squats looked strong. You might have said this already, but what are your goals for the NASA meet?

Gotta hit the foam. Feels so good after you're done. Its not really all that painful anymore now that I do it all the time.

Thanks, I'm really glad I got the SSB. Totally different. I'd like to get a Cambered bar too. For the NASA meet I want to total over 1300+ and beet mike on the deadlift going over 500. What ever he ends up for his third attempt I have to go over it. 1300+ will take precedence though. Around a 500 squat, 300 bench, 500 dl.

@#$@#@# That's right I'm back. That's a PR I had just before the flood happened and this time I used a narrow grip which I'm not as strong at making this PR so much sweeter. First time I've done DB presses in a really REALLY long time. I don't remember the last time I did them. Been well over a year. Wow, did I feel unstable doing them. Only have the 90's so I'll have to work up on reps with those.

I've watched this vid several times today after seeing it posted on FI and it just doesn't get old.

Just before the meet I scale back a lot of volume and intensity. Sometimes that week of the meet I wont do anything really at all except my normal off day stuff which is low intensity with moderate-high volume.

The week after the meet I'll do the same but start back with the weights. Sometimes I'll take the first part of the week completely off and start back up light at the end of the week. Some guys I know take the entire week off and sometimes more.

It's all about how I feel and if I'm ready. I haven't jumped right into a full training cycle right after a meet though. Usually week of the meet is a deload and then the week after the meet I call it a reload which is pretty much the same thing.

What ever he ends up for his third attempt I have to go over it. 1300+ will take precedence though. Around a 500 squat, 300 bench, 500 dl.
I've never used a true cambered bar, just a Buffalo bar which was awesome, easier on the shoulders too. 1300 is a nice total, I'd like to hit something like sometime this summer hopefully. Also, do you ever have someone lift off for you on bench? I know that when I lift off heavy weights to myself I end up wasting energy on it and my setup gets all messed up and I end up flattened out.

I get a lift off at a meet but training wise I'm usually alone so nope.

Week 1 down and feeling fuking awesome. Beet to all hell but in a really good way. Yes, if you watched the vid, I now have a Westside Zercher/Front Squat harness. Nice little Valentines day present. Never done zerchers to a box before and that was hard as hell curling myself back up with my hammies and gluts and keeping my back up and straight. It was funny I would do alright up to ten and then just flat couldn't get up on the 11th rep each freaking time. Crazy.

My middle back was totally fried after that and then I went on to the pull throughs to really finish off my lower back too along with my hams and gluts. Haven't done them with a average band yet and that was pretty tough. Had to keep a really good quick speed going or it would fling me back. Also, noticed from my last vid I wasn't really pushing my hips into it on the top so did that more this time.

Okay, ready to go pass out now.
