So I bought a pair of dumbbells(http://www.bigfitness.com/40lbadblduse.html) but I hate having to screw on those things to keep the weight plates in place.
Is there something I can get to rapidly put the weights in place such as this;

Olympic bar sleeves are longer. Spinning a collar 15" up a sleeve would be a pain in the ass. For dumbbells and other shorter bars it would make more sense. But I've never liked spin-lock collars for anything.
OP, your best bet is to get 14" dumbbell handles without the threading, and Quicklee collars will work on them fine. The threading will stop collars like that from being secure. But I've heard of spring clip collars being used on them successfully.www.tworepcave.com

Here is another option to order dumbbell handles without the spinlocks:
http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/im-0033.html
New York Barbells prices them seperately...$9.95 each. Just a touch cheaper than the other company.
There are a number of threads about doing business with NYBB and the quality of the 1" dumbbell handles if you are interested in researching the company. Hope that helps-Bo

I don't know. They are located in Elmira, NY and deliver to me over 900 miles away in Missouri. Depending on where you are in Canada, you could be several hundred miles closer.
Don't know how the whole "crossing the border" thing affects their delivery guidelines, though.
I always call them when placing an order. Might be worth a toll free call to find out. -Bo

dont be suprised if they come loose on ya. and eventually, that little bar that you use to loosen and tighten will bend.
I used to use some simillar.
If your anything like me, you will eventually find the 16" or 18" spin lock handles to be more ideal.

Re: above.
I've seen Olympic-sized threaded bars/collars. Don't know if anyone makes them currently.
Hate to push my own product, but the compression ring collar we make is I believe the safest (and easiest) standard collar for dbells and barbells. Product numbers are CL-1/4, C-2, and C-3 (the last two for standard dumbbells). You can put a lot of weight on a bar, secure the collar, and use it overhead. You can find them at Big-5 sporting goods stores.
Also we made a version of the black collar above with a copper-tipped screw.()---() York Barbell Club #50 ()---()

I just ordered the CL 1/4. The collars that came with the 18" bars that I ordered from Pacillos were garbage. I even found the CL 1/4 for $20, including shipping, , from here:

Yep, those are real nice and have been holding great for my DBs. I'd like to get a couple pair for my fat DB Bars as well. On your site it doesnt say if both the COT-2.5 & COT-1.25 are for Olympic bars? If they are both Olympic, I'm guessing the COT-2.5 is "Heaveir Duty", is that correct?
I'll call to place my order after Xmas,
Thanks

Maybe you're really happy with your bar and collar set up, I don't know. But if you're not, or you don't care either way, if you send me your bar and collars (compression ring ones), I'll send you one of our Ivanko tricep bars and a set of collars. PM if you're interested.
There's a pic on the clearance page of the tricep bomber. It's the solid one. STB-100 I think it's called. (We also have a tubular one, of very good American quality, that we made in the 70's) that's pictured.()---() York Barbell Club #50 ()---()

Any product with an "O" in the code usually means for "Olympic". The COT-1.25 weighs 1-1/4 lbs, the 2.5, weighs 2-1/2 lbs. The COT-2.5 is heavier duty and literally heavier. The 1.25 comes in chrome or black. The 2.5 just in chrome.
I'd go with 1.25. It's narrower. Better for your application. I personally think the COT-2.5 is overkill for a lot of stuff, including EZ Curl bars.()---() York Barbell Club #50 ()---()
