I would have to say that HupA has been my favorite supplement so far in terms of school. I feel like PEA and DOPA work to just keep me happy while studying, while HupA keeps me from going into la-la-land. I'm also a big fan of DOPA and HupA in terms of HGH, but that's not what this log is for. If I had to pick one in terms of studying, I would say HupA. I've never had a problem learning the material, I've just always had a problem making myself sit down and go over the material rather than getting distracted.
This log is going to start back up guys. I got two big midterms tomorrow that I'm cramming for and I've got my finals in a month. This log will never end until I have finished every pill in all three containers.
Day 12 (After Extensive Break)
Yesterday I popped one PEA, one L-DOPA, and two L-Hupz before studying. I didn't really feel that amazing like I usually do with PEA or DOPA but it definitely helped me focus and get a lot done.

Just to clarify since I did this for PEA but not the other two:
L-DOPA
-Description-
L-DOPA is a naturally occurring amino acid found in the human brain and in certain plants (Macuna pruriens, or velvet bean). L-Dopa is produced from the amino acid L-Tyrosine. L-Dopa is able to cross the blood-brain-barrier and convert into Dopamine. By increasing Dopamine L-DOPA indirectly causes a significant HGH release and suppresses excessive prolactin release in healthy adults.
-My Bottle-
Cognitive Nutrition has generously sponsored me with a bottle that contains 120 capsules of 250mg.
-Neurochemical effects-
: Raises levels of dopamine
: Supports mental alertness and mood
: Releases human growth hormone (HGH)
:Supports physical strength and well being
: Reduces excessive Prolactin levels
-Dose-
250-500 mg daily with juice or water.
-What works best with it?-
EGCG (from Green Tea extract) acts as a natural decarboxylase inhibitor which helps prevent excessive levels of Dopamine from building up in the body rather than the brain.
Quercetin acts as a natural catechol-O-methyl transferase (COMT) inhibitor that improves L-DOPA's conversion into Dopamine in the brain and helps prevent Dopamine breakdown.
-Notes-
Best used as needed or cycled if used consistently. Avoid taking in high doses with other compounds that potently affect dopamine such as other dopamine precursors (L-Tyrosine, D-Phenylalanine, L-Phenylalanine), dopamine agonists (Bromocriptine), or MAO Inhibitors (Deprenyl).
If you have hypotension or any health conditions consult a healthcare professional before using.

L-Huperzine A
-Description-
L-Huperzine A is a natural compound extracted from the Huperzia serrata plant. L-Huperzine A is used to improve memory, learning and perhaps mood. Some people have also reported an improvement in dream activity.
L-Huperzine A is commonly used by students, adults, and those looking for a memory enhancement, especially for testing and studying purposes.
-My Bottle-
Cognitive Nutrition has generously sponsored me with a bottle that contains 60 capsules of 100mcg.
-Neurochemical Effects-
: L-Huperzine A increases levels of Acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter involved with cognition and memory) by inhibiting Acetylcholinesterase.
: L-Huperzine A is an NMDA receptor antagonist (it may reduce damage caused by excessive glutamate) which can further enhance cognitive and perhaps mood functioning by increasing AMPA receptor activity.
-Dosage-
:Take 1-6 capsules daily with or without meals.
:This product can be taken as needed and if used daily take 2 days off a week is suggested for best results.
:This product is recommended for those 16 and up. Those under 18 should take it under the supervision/approval of their parents and doctor.
:When can I feel it? Effects are generally noticed within an hour to a few days.
-Caution-
Do not take if you are taking any medications or have a health condition without your doctor?s advice. If you notice any side effects discontinue use.

Day 13
I knew I had two big tests the next day, so I was up most of the day and night studying. I think combining all three of these supplements really helped me focus, but it also kept me from getting too depressed about studying and the upcoming tests.
Day 14
Wowzers, rough day. I had two two-hour econ tests today. I took HupA in the morning before my first test, and then I took another HupA along with one PEA and a DOPA before my second test and it helped keep me alert and focused even though I was exhausted. I really felt mentally refreshed going into that second test.

Finals have started (yay :/)
Day 15
Hadn't taken them in a while. Took one of each pill, and I felt great. Really focused. Got a lot accomplished. I'm not really sure I can say much more other than what I've stated before.
Day 16
I was really sick and took two of each pill, but I ended up not feeling it at all. In fact, I almost felt a little worse. I am taking some nasal decongestants, so maybe there was an adverse effect. If this is your first time reading the log, his is my first time to every report this type of thing (so don't be worried).

Have you noticed any change in your libido while taking this stack?
I've been stacking PEA/piracetam/choline cocktail (Twinlab) for about a month for mental clarity and focus. I haven't noticed anything earthshattering, but can definitely tell the difference. L-Dopa is on its way and I'm wondering how this stack will change my experience.
I'm also interested in the reports of enhanced libido using L-Dopa, and my wife's interested in that aspect as well.
I need to get some quercetin and EGCG as well, although I'm not sure what dosage of these to use.

Glad to see that your combo cocktail has been doing something for you. It may take even longer for the stack to fully kick in. L-Dopa will be a nice addition, and with it comes an increase in happiness and motivation as well as sex side effects.
L-Dopa greatly increases my libido, but where it shines IMO is the reduction in your refractory period. You basically can go and go and go lol -- your wife will love it trust me she will wind up worn out LOL
As for the quercetin I am unsure of dosing, but for EGCG I use 300mg.of green tea extract. Sometimes I use l-dopa without the addition of EGCG as well.i rep back 1k+

I took the L-Dopa over the weekend and was disappointed not to feel the euphoria or much of an effect on my libido. Initially I took 250mg along with green tea extract and a P5P tablet, then later on took a 500mg dose along with the green tea extract and some PEA. Since I'm an old dude - 50 years old - it might take longer for the stack to work.
This morning I took the L-dopa (500mg) with the green tea extract and the P5P, along with piracetam and my choline cocktail. I'm going to try to track down some quercitin today and add it as well.
Is it safe to take either 250mg or 500mg a day on a regular basis, along with the aforementioned co-factors? Right now I feel very mentally alert, but again, no euphoria or any unusual amount of happiness.

The L-DOPA is different from PEA in which you really don't feel euphoria like pea... but it changes mood/motivation/memory/sex drive. It may take some more time to fully kick in, but I do suggest stacking it with some other sex related supps such as maca, horny goat weed, etc. because IMO the true power of it is the reduction in refractory periods.
Just cycle the L-DOPA so go 5 days on/2 days off.
Looking forward to see how you fully react to it!i rep back 1k+

The next free weekend, I'm going to be combining the L-Dopa with some cialis and some testosterone troches, along with some arginine and DHEA. Should be an explosive stack. I was going to do this last weekend, but was out of cialis and forgot to take the testosterone troches. FWIW, I'm under doctor's care for testosterone replacement therapy, and he's the one who prescribed the troches for a quick, temporary blast of testosterone. A troche is a sublingual lozenge, so the testosterone gets into your system via your bloodstream, instead of going through your digestive system - which is very hard on your liver. That's why you never hear of oral testosterone.

Okay, I haven't seen Cognitive Nutrition around that much, but I'm starting this log back up again. School is starting soon, and I'm going to start using these products again. Sorry for the long break - I didn't feel the need to use the products during the summer because I was not doing any mental activity (all physical work) and felt that would detract from the quality of the log.
If I didn't rep you for posting here, PM me and I will. If you post in here, I will rep you. Thanks.

9/10/09
Need to write a paper for an early morning deadline. Took one cap of PEA on an empty stomach. I felt good, but not great, so I took another cap about 15 minutes later. I took Dopa and HupA together about 20 minutes later.
Results: Eight hours and one full all-nighter later, it helped a lot. I got **** done.Last edited by java568; 09-11-2009 at 06:31 AM.
