Hey has anyone worked out the same day, or the day after when getting their tattoo? Im getting mine tomorrow at 5 on my shoulder so I might put in an effort to workout the next day its going to be back so I dont think its going to be a problem, anyone disagree?

It depends on the tattoo. If it is just an outline or a shade then it should be fine. But if you are getting it totally filled in then you really shouldn't work it out for about 2 weeks. The skin can and probably will crack open, hurt like hell and mess up the new tat. Make sure you ask whoever does the tattoo.

Got one last year on my shoulder blade and worked out shoulders the next day. Just wore a sleeveless shirt and put a towel on the bench for a little extra padding and everything was good, tat still looks great. I asked the guy who did mine and he said it would be no problem to work out afterwards, just give it a day and moisturize it constantly.

Is it normal for my tattoo to be a little red after the workout? May be stupid but im real cautious .. I didnt sweat on my tattoo nor did i get it dirty so im not sure its infected at all.. and how the hell could I do the bench with it on my shoulder blade? Should I just try and make the bench movement more controlled with a towel on the bench??
Thanks guys this is a helpful thread

You're not supposed to get sweat on a fresh tattoo. Even though it's from your own body and what not, the sweat has bacteria in it that can give you an infection regardless of how long you worked out for, as soon as the sweat is on it, it's on it. Also if you're working out at a local gym it's very crucial not to workout right away because of all the other possible sweat and bacteria left around from other people. Last note you don't want to use a towel at all until after about 2 weeks towels and clothing can contain bacteria. Good luck buddy.
