yes thats with loose single ply breifs and a super tight 2 ply old school suit, works rather well together lol i think if i become more confident under the bar, mainly in the hole i can get a 700lb squat well see soon at my meet. ill try and get vids because i know they'll be some doubters.

Got a 390# squat and a 475# deadlift in my first USAPL meet. Both PRs!
Here's the deadlift:

A strongman buddy came into town so we hit up a ME lower with box squats and rack pulls. The results were some bad ass PR's for both. We both got 700 on the safety bar box squats, my buddy hit 895 on knee rack pulls and I got 1005.

not really a PR, but a tie, anyway..
squatted 455 to stupid depth, got stuck just an inch or so above parallel. arched hard and exploded through that so hard that the bar actually bounced a little off of my back(not so much that it hurt, just a little). shoulda went for 2 on that weight. i think i woulda had it..
tried 460. dropped to effin ridiculous depth yet again and got to the sticking point again.. as i drove upwards, i didn't spread my knees like i should have, and they went inwards. i stalled their and pushed, but ran out of gas... failsauce on that lift.
was kinda cool watching the bar bend when it was bouncing, though.

My bench and squat have been increasing, but my deadlift has sucked. I pulled 465 about a year and a half ago and since then, I have not pulled over 455 (last October or so and it was after tightening my belt and having on suit bottoms). I tried focusing more on form and the weight suffered. Hell, I struggled with 435 just a few months ago. I was irritated about it and started going for rep PRs and never went above 425x3.
Tonight was my last workout for a week and a half (body needs a break and my wedding/honeymoon fall now) and wanted to do well. 405x5 felt odd. I said, "To hell with it" and put on 455. I pulled it pretty easily. I hit a new P.R. and pulled 475 after only using my lever belt on the lose setting and nothing else. I wanted to go for more, but I wanted to end on a good note since it was already a P.R. My workouts tend to go to hell if I miss a max attempt.Last edited by Poppy83; 04-01-2009 at 08:07 PM.
