Thank you for the help gents!
What do you all reckon a respectable contest weight is for someone that is 6'0". I am really hoping that cutting doesn't actually take up 11 months lol. Assuming right now I am about 15-16% BF and weigh 215lbs in the AM. That puts me at just around 180-181lbs of LBM.
Sore today from yesterdays session. Going home to see the family and eat some good foods. No gym today, I will hit chest/upper back tomorrow.

If you truly have 180 lbs of LBM, thats plenty to present a very respectable physique. If you weighed 195 on stage in contest condition....great. But seriously, I wouldnt worry about it. If youre commited to competing....it doesnt matter what your LBM is. Just diet down and display it. Dont get wrapped up in numbers. If you were sitting at 10% right now, id say it wouldnt hurt to bulk a bit, but I would want to make sure I was within range before I made any plans to bulk.

Well said, thank you for putting things into perspective for me. That is what I am trying to do, lets say I get down to 10-12% by January I have 5 months before starting a 20 week prep. A slow bulk or just a recomp at maintenance cals might be possible on a UD2.0 style diet. I've done it before and I'm sure this time would be no different.

For sure. If youre at 10-12% by jan (which would be exceptional), I would say a short stint at (or slightly above maintenance) would be beneficial to your metabolism. I wouldnt expect to put on huge amounts of muscle over 5 months....maybe a couple lbs....but even that will be hard because you dont want to add any fat.

Hey man, youre doing great! I would say both you and I are going to have to see how our bodies react to our cutting. We're basically the same stats and everything. I started running like a maniac and wearing ankle weights and heavy boots more often cause my legs and stomach are my current downfall. lol I'm really just hoping to get completely cut with as much muscle mass as I can have for the first show. My arms and chest are my biggest muscles right now so I know that if my arms go from 18" to 16.5" in Nov. 09, then they will look bigger than right now cause I'm chunky and I dont have the definition. Your arms are huge and we're going to look frikkin awesome bro!
Keep it up man, I'm bustin a$$ and so are you so just stay motivated and positive!Screw 'em, who cares what anyone thinks - Angus

Thanks for the kind words. I agree about trying to come in completely shredded. I'm hitting the gym tomorrow morning for chest/upper back.
Diet today was actually good. Since I only ate one meal with the exception of a 90 calorie yogurt for breakfast. Turkey was awesome though. Weighed myself at my parents house on the digi scale 216 naked.

So today I feel sore as heck from the lower session yesterday. Upper feels good and it looks like I'll be back in the gym today for Shoulders/Bis/Abs Might throw in a little extra forearm work as I think its one of my bigger weak points. I am also going to be doing an extra shoulder exercise as it is another weak point. My body is just one big weak point at the moment lol.
I have a more structured diet plan now. Going to be doing a 4 week long 500 below maintenance cruise till new years. That should result in a 2% drop. Maybe slightly more with the addition of a lb of LBM.
After this 4 week cruising period I am switching over to a UD2.0 style carb cycle diet. I have customized this to include a lot of stuff from the cyclical ketogenic diet as well as protein sparing modified fast. If all goes well I should be able to change body composition at a rate of -1lb of fat +.5lb of muscle a month. Doing this for 4 months should put me where I need to be to start contest prep without ending up too little on stage.
I am going to make it a point to go purchase a bathroom scale for my apartment as it will be important for tracking depleted and carbed up weights.
This is going to be a fun self experiment I suppose. I hope maybe a few of you guys reading this get something useful out of this.
Thanks for any comments or critique.Instagram - @gourmetpaul

Got my Scivation diet and routine in my email today. Lando seems like a cool guy. The diet and training aren't much different from what I was doing. Training antagonist pairs is something I have been doing for over a year now. The Carb Haters Anonymous diet is similar to the low carb approach I have been taking but this looks like Keto to me. I am going to give it a shot starting next monday after I get all my supplements ordered.
I'm also going to have to make a trip to walmart today for a bathroom scale.
I feel nice and sore after yesterdays workout. No gym today. Chest/Back tomorrow. Also need to find my BF calipers. I know they are somewhere around the apartment.Instagram - @gourmetpaul

Gotcha, well I bought one of those bodyfat/hydration scales for my bathroom today. And I also received my Scivation plan. I guess I will officially start my 48 WEEK CONTEST PREP today. I know these scales are not accurate lol but who knows maybe it will be useful in tracking progress at least.
Official 48 week out stats

Weight 218.6lbs
BF% 15-17% (Scale - 24.7%)
LBM Estimated 180 (Scale says 166.6)

Last Month This Month
Neck:17.3 +/-0 16.9 -.4
Bicep:17.5 +.5 Left 17.7 +.2 Right 18.1 +.6

I'll definitely be following along. Whenever you talked about UD 2.0 earlier on in the thread, were you referring to Ultimate Diet 2.0? I've been curious about what exactly that entails.
I did CHA with ATS training for 4 weeks to see what it was all about, it definitely works and after a little tinkering I was steadily dropping 2lbs a week when I dropped it to 2600, though going by the Diabetic Exchange portions instead of calories was something I had to get used to.
What sort of cardio are you doing with your lifting? Hoping to learn some things from this thread!MTS Nutrition Houston rep.

Yes I did mean Ultimate Diet 2.0.
Its a carb depletion for 4 1/2 days followed by a day and a half long refeed. with a maintenance day. During the week during depletion you do full body workouts and on the weekends a power workout.Instagram - @gourmetpaul
