LOL, I've been known to get absorbed in a good book and not move until I've finished it. Thankfully, I read pretty quickly, but still. I'd get in trouble when I was younger because I wouldn't go to sleep until I finished what I was reading - drove my mom nuts.
Sorry arskier, but I've got a lot of favorites - and quite a few of them are geared at chicks. What are your interests currently? Do you prefer fiction or non? Mystery, thriller, sci-fi? There's an entire world to be discovered between the covers of a book - it just depends on where you want to go.Last edited by HeatherAC; 10-27-2008 at 01:02 PM.

Id be interested in some Philosophy books that anyone may recommend, i really get wrapped up in those books.
id say ive read from cover to cover about 50+ books.
It would be more but like many others if a book is not very interesting ill just put it off to the side.'Cause sometimes you feel tired,
feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up.
But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength
and just pull that **** out of you and get that motivation to not give up
and not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.

That's a tough one. I don't think I could list a top ten as such, but these are ten of my favourites:
"Il Gattopardo" Guiseppe de Lampedusa
"The Source" James Michener
"Shogun" James Clavell
"Pillars of the Earth" Ken Follett
"Shantaram" Gregory David Roberts
"Lord of the Rings" JRR Tolkien
"Gates of Fire" Steven Pressfield
"Without Remorse" Tom Clancy
"Fantastic Mr. Fox" Roald Dahl
"The Power of One" Bryce Courtney
Growing up I was also a big fan of: the "Adventure" series by Willard Price, and the "Redwall" books by Brian Jacques (among many others).

Probably about 100+
Stuff on my own and stuff for school/college
Although I like a good fiction book I prefer reading non-fiction: psychology, (bio-)ethical stuff, philosophy, criminology...
I'm reading a couple of methodics books on social work now which includes intakes, body language, conversations etc..not because I have to, I want to.
Just finished mindmapping by tuny bunzan, it's a hell of a cool way to summarize **** and not as boring as a standard summary, review...
On my shelf,, haven't quite gotten there, bought them or got them from friends, family...
- The power of power (title's translated from dutch)
- Psychological types (C.G jung)
- War and peace (Tolstoi)
- Doors of perception and heaven and hell (aldous huxley) (this one i'm gonna read in English)
wish list
- Origin of species (Darwin)
- the idiot (dostojevski)
- Genealogie der moral (Nietzche)
- Kritik der reine vernunft ( Kant)
One of my favorites is the stranger by Albert Camus, good read.
Going to look into michel focault, his stuff about structures of power seems interesting.
It's a pity that because of college you don't have enough time to read what you want, it sucks. You have to read alot of mandatory stuff, you have your courses, papers, extra articles...and then sometimes reading stuff on your own is a bit too much+ there's life off books.Last edited by A_Jizzle; 10-28-2008 at 06:39 AM.

Ive easily read over 1000 books.. One of my favorite series of books was the dark tower series by stephen king.. I read every michael crichton book, I love how he writes.. Ive read a ton of different fantasy series like xanth books, le modesitt jr's series.. Ive read so many books I don't even remember the names of them or the author anymore lol.. every goosebumps book back when I was young.. Im a reading machine son. One of my favorites ever was "Pompeii".. and read the jurassic park books they are so good, especially the 2nd one its nothing at all like the 2nd jurassic park movie, it blows it away.
